Sam Bankman-Fried sentenced to 25 years in prison - MSNBC (Original Post) TexasTowelie Mar 28 OP
I don't know this guy or the complete story of his crimes. But 25 years seem excessive given the Trump indictments. usaf-vet Mar 28 #1

So this guy stole money or cheated people out of their money.

If 25 years is the punishment for this individual.

Then I think Trump should get life in federal prison JUST for the classified documents case.

In Trump's case, he should have returned all classified documents after he lost the election. He no longer had the right to those documents.

If he had returned them when asked by the government agency tasked with securing them, he would not have faced a trial and possibly prison time.

More than one service member has been tried and sentenced to long prison terms for holding similar documents.

For example, Robert Hanssen was sentenced to life in prison for espionage and giving Russian classified information.

Hanssen pled guilty to 15 counts of espionage on July 6, 2001. On May 10, 2002, he was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Hanssen died on June 5, 2023, at the age of 79.

And the judges would be afraid of him and let him off the hook for his crimes.

Bankman-Fried should have offered them some top secret documents, a bible, and some gold tennis shoes!
