Lawrence O'Donnell: It's time to thank Dr. Fauci for saving millions upon millions of lives - The Last Word - MSNBC

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell is joined by Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to discuss his new book “On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service,” his storied career serving multiple presidents of both political parties, and Dr. Fauci’s work fighting HIV/AIDS, Ebola, COVID-19, and other infectious diseases. - Aired on 06/20/2024.

3. I couldn't agree more! Lawrence put together the best tribute I've seen, not to mention the best complete interview

Going back throughout Dr. Fauci's historic contributions - serving under seven presidents and the people of this country!

And I guessed both presidential questions correctly...

2. I'd just finished reading Anthony Fauci's book before he was on Lawrence, and wept as Lawrence introduced him.

I HIGHLY recommend his book.

The lessons he teaches us about how we prepare and respond to the unknown he frames in two separate but sometimes overlapping "buckets": the scientific bucket and the public health bucket.

We millions who got an mRNA vaccine, in a record 11 months, for a previously unknown global pandemic virus
-- because of his parallel tracking of drug trials during the AIDS epidemic decades earlier -- makes him the medical and public health GOAT.

Anthony Fauci's life is a great lesson in great spirits who love to learn, and then use their high level expertise through networks of help to humanity. He guided seven American presidents.

His work with GWBush (PEPFAR) to save millions across continents, his willingness to learn from and then become loved by those who called him a murderer is a humbling lesson in faith, love and commitment.

I'm grateful to be alive at the same time Anthony Fauci is.

And I couldn't agree more, Dr. Fauci isn't only our national hero, but an international hero as well. Ad every single one of us have benefited from his amazing work and dedication. As I said earlier, when I was able to get my initial Covid shot, I was tremendously relieved that I received the same one as Dr. Fauci!

And thanks so much for the book recommendation, I agree that we all need to learn from him by reading it...

10. And we can't forget that he successfully worked under seven presidents - until he disagreed with TFG over Covid

9. Dr. Fauci said that he got along TFG just fine until he told him that Covid wouldn't "disappear by Easter" like the flu
