6. So sick how they take offense to a word that they don't even blink when their children use it.

I was in my backyard today, TODAY, and I hear, "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck it all."

It was the sound of a young child and I turned around, looking through the trees to find the kid to try to determine the age. He was sitting in the driver side of a golfcart and his dad walked up to him and whatever he told the kid changed nothing. The kid continued to throw F bombs and the group played through without paying attention to him.

I watched as the golfcart drove by with what looked like a 7 or 8 year old boy driving the cart. The mom was sitting next to him and a tall man was standing in the back, holding onto the roof while the dad walked alongside of the cart.

This is who they are. Teaching their kids that rules don't apply to them. Somewhere down the line, when the kid is older they'll teach them how to stop people from expressing themselves by showing false offense for the colorful words that come up in their own home...daily.

But if I had ever used it around my parents, there would have been hell to pay. My father's only swear words were "damn!" or "Jesus!" and he had to be pretty worked up to use either of them...

to break with decent behavior. They find it amusing. And if they get caught, the parents are nonchalant. If they're ashamed, they won't show it in public.

When we were kids, we knew where were supposed to be, swimming lessons, riding classes, play rehearsals, and we could be depended on to show up on our own. But things changed over the years and they needed more counselors to make sure that the kids showed up where they were expected, even had to accompany them.
