We don't have to know what his reasoning is. There could be some hidden agenda we don't know about. We don't have to explain the reasoning or wait until all the facts are in. Frum's point is that the results of these policies were obvious to anyone and therefore they are fulfilling their purpose.

It's a messaging war and it doesn't always have to make sense. Gawd knows they aren't confined to messages that make sense.

He is a vindictive asshole and is getting even for not being elected in 2020.... He will tank the entire country to get even for that.
