ABC News special coverage of Iraq War (March 20, 2003, 6:30pm ET)
This is a recording of ABC News special coverage on March 20, 2003, of what would have been the regular timeslot for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings from the Vanderbilt Television News Archive. As the index indicates, ABC and the other networks had pre-empted regular daytime programming for much of the day. Yet the ABC affiliate in Nashville had broken away for a local newscast prior to the World News Tonight regular timeslot of 5:30 Central (6:30 Eastern). ABC struggled to have a smooth transition from Mike Von Fremd's live remote to the half-hour mark.
