Legalized Online Betting Is Destroying Sports (Legal Eagle)

I thought about posting this in sports but didn't think people would feel like watching a 22 minute video there (which is actually the short version with the amount of details that are discussed) and felt it would be more appropriate here.

It covers how it works, the NBA and MLB pitcher gambling scandal, and why it is so hard to stop.

I never placed a bet on a gambling app and never would.

i might bet a few dollars on a football game or a horse race, but i support a mom and pop establishment in my home town.

i don't want to understand fantasy football, but do they gamble on that as well?

And pleaded with lawmakers on bended knee ...

But the laissez faire argument (and the prospect of boatloads of money) won the day.
And it's only likely to go downhill from here.

There has always been ripe opportunity, and a certain acknowledgement if not acceptance of cheating (it's almost a baseline element of 'sports'). But what we have done here - is removed any remaining taboo - and invited the bookies to become 'roomies' with the athletes. Quelle surprise!

How do you educate a child about gambling?
Teach them what the over/unders means?

This NFL season looks fishy. Coincidence?
