Related: About this forumLet's talk about Trump denying China Venezuela's oil.... - Belle of the Ranch
Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump denying China Venezuela's oil.
As Trump's oil grabbing scheme in Venezuela fails, as oil companies say they won't go, as Maduro's government stays in power, as US military power is now reportedly being used by the Venezuelan government to track down oil tankers for them, as non-state actors reportedly roam the streets looking for Americans, and the US tells Americans to leave, it's become more and more clear this is a failure.
Trump's supporters and those who were tricked by his various pretexts are grasping, trying to find any reason to call this a success. They're looking for that 4D chess move. Here's an example. Since you just want to talk about how bad it was for Trump to take out Maduro and how the oil plan is working, let me tell you something you don't know. It's not about getting the oil for the US. It's about denying the oil to China. China gets 70% of its oil from Venezuela. Now, because of Trump, they need to get his permission to access that. What do you think they're going to do now? He just won Taiwan without a shot.
I'm just going to respond to this as it is for a moment. What would China do? Well, since they're the world leader in renewables, they probably work to transition faster. They're stomping the US into the ground on every front. While the US chases a dying tech. Even the mighty Tesla is no longer the number one electric vehicle company. That title now goes to BYD, a Chinese company. While Trump is pretending like it's the early 1900s, China's building for 2050 and the US is getting weaker and left behind.
Okay, so I answered your question. Now, let me tell you something you don't know. How to read a chart. China doesn't get 70% of its oil from Venezuela. China sometimes takes 70% or even higher of Venezuelan exports, but Venezuelan oil only makes up about 4% of the oil China imports. So, what would China do if they lost Venezuela as a source? Nothing really. 4% is pretty insignificant when they have as many oil sources as they do.
See, while Venezuela has huge reserves, its infrastructure is shot. That's why Trump needed the oil companies to go down there. Since the oil infrastructure is shot, Venezuela can't actually produce much. So, even if China took 100% of the exports, it's not significant. Trump didn't deny them fuel needed to take Taiwan; he didn't win Taiwan without a shot. He gave China precedent to move on Taiwan. There's no 4D chess move to be discovered. Trump didn't consider what happens next. He didn't think about the next steps. Now there's a mess. It's really important to note that Trump's screw up in Venezuela didn't have a lot of hugely negative effects for the US directly. Greenland will. He's going to wander the US into world irrelevance.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
