I mean, I get it, I know what they were doing, but the costume would have impeded their success. What it did do is set the imagery of a perverse game of dominance.
So, now it's not just people in dog costumes at Mar-a-Lago, which seems equally perverse, but they seem to be wearing costumes reminiscent of the French Revolution era.
I mean, maybe someone is trying to laugh in Trump's face?

(57,309 posts)4. Was Oklahoma Republican Humphrey or Texan Stan Gerdes in attendance?
https://www.reddit.com/r/furry/comments/1993ppf/an_oklahoma_republican_has_proposed_a_bill_that/
An Oklahoma Republican has proposed a bill that would ban students "engaging in anthropomorphic behavior, commonly known as furries" from participating in school
Specific bill page (Oklahoma Bill 3084) here..
The bill is authored by 57-year-old Republican in a cowboy hat Justin J. J. Humphrey. For obvious reasons, it's not exactly likely to pass once it reaches a wider audience, but this would be the first piece of legislation on the topic of furries.. probably anywhere?

The bizarre back-and-forth came just before midnight on Tuesday as the Texas Houses education committee debated legislation that would ban Texas public school students from engaging in what the bills author, Republican Representative Stan Gerdes, of Smithville, has deemed non-human behavior while on campus. Among the potentially forbidden behaviors: barking, meowing, wearing a leash, licking oneself or others for the purpose of grooming, and wearing a fur suit or anything else that is inconsistent with behaviors or accessories typically displayed by a member of the homo sapiens species, according to the bill.
Named the F.U.R.R.I.E.S. (Forbidding Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education) Act, Gerdess bill aims to excise furriesthe name typically ascribed to members of a subculture who don large, anthropomorphic costumes matching animal alter egosfrom Texas public schools. The bill also bans students from using litter boxes instead of bathrooms. Its the latest response to a conservative panic over a wave of hoaxes and debunked viral posts that claim schoolkids across America are choosing to identify as animals and that some school administrators are either turning a blind eye or actively aiding and encouraging the behavior. Governor Greg Abbott, who endorsed Gerdess bill, has himself helped spread these rumors: At a stop on his statewide tour promoting school-voucher legislation earlier this year, he told a group of pastors that in some parts of the state, kids go to school dressed up as cats with litter boxes in their classrooms.
