Trump Hit Where It Hurts by Fox News - Pondering Politics
A recent Fox News poll reveals that Donald Trump's approval rating stands at 44%, with a significant majority of voters—especially independents and Democrats—believing the country is worse off than a year ago. The poll shows that 54% of Americans think the economy is in bad shape, and only 24% feel better off financially compared to last year. A large portion of voters, including 18% of independents and 27% of Democrats, believe Trump’s top priority should be resigning. While Trump maintains a slight approval on border security (52%), his ratings are low across other key issues like the economy (40% approval), inflation (38%), and healthcare.
The poll, conducted by Fox News with bipartisan pollsters, indicates that Trump has hit political limits on immigration enforcement and faces a severe challenge on economic perception, which could impact Republican prospects in the upcoming midterm elections. Despite some hope that economic benefits from the "One Big Beautiful Bill" may help Republicans later, the current sentiment is overwhelmingly negative.
