Let's talk about Trump threatening cities with a good time.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump threatening cities with a good time.

Trump has gotten a massive amount of push back from state and local governments. ever since he decided to use heavy-handed militarized tactics in various cities. As is true to form and mentioned in pretty much all training material, the heavy-handed moves increased resistance to his policies and turn the local populace even more against the Republican policies and rhetoric.

In response, Trump has decided to punish the Democrats by, well, I'll just read it, “I have instructed Secretary of Homeland Security Kristy Noem that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various poorly democratic cities with regard to their protests and/or riots unless and until they ask us for help. We will, however, guard and very powerfully so any and all federal buildings that are being attacked by those highly paid lunatics, agitators, and insurrectionists. Please be aware that I have instructed ICE and/or border patrol to be very forceful in this protection of federal government property.”

To be clear, he's now promising to only deploy forces to protect federal property. which if you remember when he tried to deploy troops in various cities is something he's actually allowed to do. Deploying to the streets for things he thinks are riots is something that really needs to be handled by the mayor and governor. This is especially true if the president's belief that there's a riot is based on him getting confused by old footage being reshown on TV.

He went on for a bit saying states were responsible for protecting their own buildings and then said that he would send in federal help if it was requested. But he had a condition. "Therefore, to all complaining local governments, governors, and mayors, let us know when you are ready, and we will be there. But before we do so, you must use the word, “please.” Remember that I stated in the strongest of language to beware. ICE, Border Patrol, or if necessary, our military. We'll be extremely powerful and tough in the protection of our federal property. We will not allow our courthouses, federal buildings, or anything else under our protection to be damaged in any way, shape, or form.”

That's right. Trump wants cities to say pretty please before he deploys forces they don't want to counter protesters they wouldn't have if it weren't for his policies and if they don't say please he won't make the situation worse by escalating, next he'll throw the cities into the briar patch to teach them a lesson.

Here's the thing about this really he's kind of just falling in line with the traditional standard, which for those who need it said means he was out of line before. But let's just set that aside. Can you think of any other president in American history who would publicly say, "Governors and mayors, let us know when you are ready, and we will be there. But before we do so, you must use the word ‘please.’"

In theory, Trump is talking about a situation where disorder is present to the level that state authorities are calling for help, which means Americans are at risk. By Trump's words, Americans would be left twisting in the wind while he plays word games with officials to stroke his ego. Trump's telling all of America his ego is more important than your safety.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
