Let's talk about Trump's 3 choices and endorsements.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump's three choices and endorsements.

As we talked about yesterday, a Trump endorsed candidate suffered a landslide defeat in a ruby red part of Texas. A reporter asked Trump how he felt about the outcome and whether it bothered him. Trump's reaction leaves us with only a few options to pick from.

A reporter asked, "In Texas, a Democrat won in a special election in an area that you had won by 17 points. What is your reaction to that?" Trump said, "I don't know. I didn't hear about it. Somebody ran where?" Fact check. This is literally the biggest electoral news in some time. If he didn't hear about the results, his staff is failing him or avoiding telling him upsetting news, which is also failing him.

So, the reporter gave him details and then he said, "I'm not involved in that. That's a local Texas race. You mean I won by 17 and this person lost?" things like that happen.” Then he added, "Well, you don't know whether or not it's transferable. You know, I'm not on the ballot, so you don't know whether or not it's transferable." Fact check. Trump endorsed the candidate and his social media posted two get out the vote/endorsement messages for the candidate in the 48 hours before being asked this question. Both of which had his name typed at the end like a signature.

For additional context, this weekend he also spoke about the upcoming GOP Senate primary in Texas and said, "You know, my problem is I'm friendly with all of them. I like all of them, all three. But you'll be seeing soon. They say whoever I endorse wins." Fact check. Nobody says that anymore. So, what are our options on Trump's statements?

Either A, Trump is trying to avoid acknowledging that his endorsement doesn't carry any weight in a district he won in a landslide in 2024. He might be worried that if he acknowledges how bad the defeat was, it shows that his endorsement was worthless or even worse for Trump might have actually damaged the candidate. Nothing will propel him to lame duck status faster than open acknowledgement in political circles that his support is a liability even in deep red areas.

Or B, Trump doesn't control his social media and somebody is typing his name at the ends of posts without his knowledge. Since Trump uses his social media to communicate with the public, department heads and foreign heads of state, this becomes more problematic than any of his ramblings about auto pens.

Or C, the elderly Trump legitimately does not remember actions he took in the previous 48 hours. Maybe there's an option D, but I can't think of one. If you've got one, let me know. Honestly, it seems like Trump's statements that he was unaware was possibly the worst move he could have made. It's left those people who want to support him with gold medal mental gymnastics to complete.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
