In his latest act of revenge, Donald Trump and JD Vance are suspending hundreds of millions of Medicaid payments to Democratic-led Minnesota.
- The Trump administration, via JD Vance and Dr. Oz, announced a $259 million suspension of Medicaid payments to Minnesota, citing fraud despite prior investigations by state and federal authorities.
- Critics argue the move is politically motivated retaliation against a Democratic blue state, not a legitimate anti-fraud measure, and may be legally/constitutionally questionable.
- Vance claimed the federal government has discretion to withhold funds to prevent fraud, but opponents stress these are mandatory, statutorily obligated payments that cant be unilaterally withheld.
- Governor Tim Walz and others counter that the administration is undermining fraud prosecution while pardoning actual fraudsters and targeting vulnerable populations like veterans, children, and disabled residents.
- Analysts (e.g., Capstone) suggest the move is more symbolic than practical, likely to backfire politically and reinforce perceptions that Republicans aim to cut healthcare, not protect it.
- The video frames the action as part of a broader pattern of corruption and retribution under Trump, contrasting the administrations focus on Minnesota with its ties to crypto donors, pardons for convicted figures, and alleged profiteering.

(10,264 posts)The tens of thousands and more of patients who will sicken and die because of this administrations cruelty and spite.
A lot of blue states lie Minnesota have red congressional districts where Republican representatives hang on year after year after year.
There is no magic no-consequences for red districts in blue states for these actions. Republican voters in these districts will suffer just like their blue-district neighbors.
And enough dead bodies will force voters to remember which representatives groveled before Orange Julius instead of standing up for their constituents.

(114,543 posts)Oh, I sincerely doung Fatso will ever spend a day in jail, I'm talking about Vance, RFK, Jr, and anyone else who enabled this obviously illegal action. This is likely to go on for years unless they drop it quickly when the injunction is handed diwn.
They not only just threw away at least 90% of their voters in MN, they are throwing away the elderly vote all over the country since Medicare is what keeps most of us housed and fed as our health declines.
I imagine lawyers will be bending the ears of several judges by the middle of next week, so this won't last long.

(3,785 posts)... but if Trump is impeached for treason aiding and abetting Russia should surely count can his entire administration be dissolved? Or is that just wishful thinking.
Given all the obscene crimes this evil fuck has committed, it seems like one or two might qualify.
