Let's talk about Trump ignoring MAGA.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump ignoring MAGA.

Over the last few weeks, Trump has increasingly announced positions in direct opposition to his campaign promises and his base's wishes. We got a little question about that. "Miss Belle, my dad is a MAGAbot. He has been for 10 years. Nothing has been able to shake him or his loyalty to Trump. But the last time I was at his house, he was talking about how disappointed he was in Trump. He was mad about Roundup, really mad about the Epstein files, and really mad that Trump keeps starting wars. He's also not happy that prices didn't go down and he's mad Trump lied about overtime, which is strange because he only works 20 hours a week. My question is, why is Trump doing things he knows will upset his followers? Most of us knew a lot of this wasn't going to happen, but some of this stuff he could actually choose to do the things his base wants. Why is he intentionally alienating his followers? I just want to be able to explain it to my dad.”

Your dad won't like the answer. It's the same reason a scam caller doesn't call back to chat after he takes grandma's social security. He doesn't need you anymore. Trump's base was always a means to an end. Marjorie Taylor Greene recently said Trump World would “intentionally post Q nods and laugh about how MAGA eats it up. Wake up. You've been brainwashed.”

Trump is probably doing the opposite of what his base wants because he literally has no use for them anymore except to hawk merchandise to. They have nothing to offer him. He's term limited. The rhetoric about his third term is trash and he knows it. But he can still fund raise and sell hats and shirts with 2028 on them if he wants. He probably laughs about how MAGA eats it up.

We just watched the Supreme Court stomp all over Trump's economic agenda because he used the wrong law to invoke the tariffs. Do you really think they're going to void the Constitution and with it their own power just to give an aging politician a dwindling shot at a third term?

At some point, a whole lot of people are going to have to acknowledge that Trump played them for a decade. He wasted 10 years of their life and he never cared about the same things they did. Trump is an establishment billionaire who laughed about giving money to politicians in both parties to grease the wheels. He didn't get compromised or lose his MAGA beliefs. His interests were always with the billionaire class, the class that got rich standing on your shoulders.

Nothing actually changed with what he does and the policies he enacts. The only thing that changes is that he doesn't actually need his base anymore. Eventually, Republicans in Congress will suffer the same fate, and they'll be useless to him as well. These people may never admit they were played publicly, but I hope they acknowledge it to themselves. It might stop it from happening again.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
