Let's talk about Trump's claimed Iran plan and why it fails.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump's claimed Iran plan and why it fails.

Okay. So, I've said a few times that Trump hasn't made the case to the American people as to why he launched this unauthorized campaign and that this doesn't appear well planned and that it appears to lack clear strategic and foreign policy objectives. This has hurt feelings.

Here's a message. "You keep saying there isn't a strategic or geopolitical plan for Iran. Well, let me inform you of what Trump has said from the beginning. One, destroy Iran's missile industry. Destroy Iran's navy. Ensure the regime's proxies cannot threaten the region anymore. Stop them from making IEDs. Guarantee they can never obtain a nuclear weapon. Prevent this radical regime from threatening America and our core national security interests. Let's talk about you explaining why you keep saying there isn't a plan.”

If you insist. War is a continuation of politics by other means. A bunch of war goals without a political plan to use those war goals to shape the state of play internationally fails to accomplish anything even if you achieve them.

Okay. Destroy Iran's missile industry. This could be one if there was some kind of plan for having a different group in power, which at this point in time seems to be up to the winds of fate. Without a change of government, they'll just rebuild and then we'll strike again. And then they'll rebuild. Then we strike again. And somewhere in the cycle, we ask ourselves how we got in this forever war.

Next, destroy Iran's navy. Again, this could be one if combined with other things. By itself, it's not even a major war goal. Other than those freaky little subs, their navy is basically a target of opportunity for the US Navy. This could be considered a real goal because it's currently being destroyed to protect the Strait of Hormuz. But since the move on the Strait occurred after the US attack, we can't really count that as a reason for the war now, can we?

Moving on. Ensure the regime's proxies cannot threaten the region anymore. So, we're going to war in six or so countries to go after the proxies. No. What's meant by this is cut the link to the regime if the regime collapses. I want you to picture a guy holding six leashes and on the end of each of those leashes is a German shepherd who really doesn't like you. You throw a rock and knock him out. What happens?

Next. Stop them from making IEDs. You do know what the I in that term means, right? I'm just curious what the target priority order is. Are we hitting all the garages or all the hardware stores first? I stands for improvised. This is just dumb. Like really dumb. Even if what's meant is going after their instructor cadre, the techniques are actually published by the US government.

Okay, moving on. Guarantee they can never obtain a nuclear weapon. I thought he already mission-accomplished that when he obliterated the program? He said it was going to take basically decades to bring back online. Was that a lie? It's at this point that you should realize they're playing you.

Last. Prevent this radical regime from threatening America and our core national security interests. Cool. How? Because destroying the infrastructure and creating a power vacuum in a region with a bunch of combat-trained radicalized people has proven oh so helpful for the US in the past. Right?

In the best case, following these objectives, you get five maybe 10 years before the US gets a massive black eye in some attack we'll say never forget about and then we'll promptly forget. Every US presidency for the last 40 or so years has had Iran in their sights. Do you really think Trump and the brain trust he has up there is more capable? There's a reason this hasn't happened. And it's not because those other presidents had problems starting war. It's because they thought beyond the distraction in the immediate.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
