Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump's feelings, Marines, Iran, orders, and a question.

Since Trump ordered the first moves against Iran back in June, we've consistently pointed out that Trump doesn't have clear, measurable objectives, nor an exit plan. Well, we got the closest we're probably going to get from Trump. Trump was asked directly, "When are you going to know when it's over?" The president of the United States indicated he would terminate the war, "When I feel it. When I feel it in my bones."

There is no plan. “When I feel it in my bones.” What is that? That's how people know when to step away from the blackjack table, too. Trump doesn't have a plan, and he is playing with the lives of civilians and combatants alike.

In recent developments in the region, the US embassy in Iraq was hit. We lost a KC135 and its crew. Trump is sending another 5,000 or so Americans into the region. The Secretary of Defense indicated the US would provide no quarter in the war. And Trump said the US launched a strike against Kharg Island and obliterated the military presence there. I'm still not sure he knows what that word means, so we'll wait for a real BDA.

Meanwhile, it certainly seems some foreign diplomats are trying to signal to the American people that things are about to get really bad economically. An official with the UAE's foreign ministry said, "You will see that impact not only petrol prices, but you will see it impact grocery bills. You will see it impact the general cost of living around the world."

The US move against Kharg Island if early reports are to be believed, left Iran's oil infrastructure intact, which some are reading as signaling from Trump to Iran, saying, "Open the Strait or we'll hit your oil." That might be the message Trump means to send, but that probably won't be the one received.

With the world reacting to Iran choking off a large amount of global oil, they probably don't think Trump will make the situation worse by striking their infrastructure. The additional Marines being sent in have led to speculation about boots on the ground operations along the coast of Iran or maybe islands.

And that's a good point to get to our question. Belle, my brother is a three-time Trump voter and Marine Corps vet. I know you won't actually repeat what he said, but he made it clear that Hegseth saying that no quarter would be given was the end of his support for Trump in the Republican party. I'm glad he's starting to wake up. But can you explain why a man who makes jokes about the Geneva checklist would have seen this as the red line? There were so many worse things.

Yeah, this is actually way easier than you think. He still cares about his fellow Marines. Hegseth isn't some grunt talking trash about the checklist while sitting on a stool shaking hands with Sailor Jerry. He is the Secretary of Defense and publicly said the US would provide no quarter. That means he's saying the US will not take prisoners.

Now, if your brother's friends were sent ashore, they're going to meet an enemy who doesn't believe they can surrender. So, they fight with every ounce of their being. And then, what happens if a Marine is captured? If I had to guess, your brother is done because Hegseth's tough talk put his friends at very real risk. As I said before, Hegseth should start having everything he's going to say cleared by somebody who's trying to help the troops rather than boost his own image.
