Related: About this forumConfused Trump embarrasses himself with off the walls claim - Another Day - Brian Tyler Cohen
BTC: Trump learns the Iranian government traffics in disinformation and he is pissed because that is our thing. This is just another day.
One of the largest criticisms of our current president is that he is a money hungry autocrat liable for sexually abusing women. But somewhere behind that one is the criticism that Donald Trump is stuck in his ways, unwilling to learn new things. Well, today he proved those critics wrong.

Reporter: Mr. President, you've said that Iran does want to make a deal now into the third week of this bombing campaign. What would that deal look like? What are the ask that you're making of the government?
Trump: They want to make a deal. They're talking to our people. I don't know if they say that to you. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Don't forget, uh, they are a country that for years, I didn't know this until recently, they're a country based on disinformation.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Whoa. A country based on disinformation. What a nightmare. I can't imagine what it must be like to live under such a ruthlessly dishonest regime. What did their leaders lie about their election results?
(cut to video)
Trump: It was a rigged election by millions and millions of votes.

BTC: Or make up lies to excuse the murdering of civilians.

Kristi Noem: An individual approached US Border Patrol officers with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.

BTC: Or lie about their relationships with pedophiles.
(cut to video)
Howard Lutnick: My wife and I decided that I will never be in the room with that disgusting person ever again.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Because if they did any of those things, I could see why some new leadership would be in order. But if you thought that was the extent of Iran's falsehoods, buckle up.
(cut to video from Trump Kennedy Center Board Members Lunch)
Trump: And now they're using dis information plus AI. And that's a terrible situation. That's a terrible situation.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Those bastards. Artificial intelligence should be used for three things and three things only. Decoding animal communication, designing entirely new medicines that humans would never think to invent, and writing those two previous things I said when I asked AI what AI should be used for. So, under no circumstances should the leader of a country be using AI to further some political agenda.

TV Host: Over the weekend, former President Trump shared a fake AI generated video on social media showing former President Barack Obama being arrested in the Oval Office.

TV Host: The White House is now responding after social media users and X itself called out an altered image posted by the Trump administration.

Boris Sanchez: Late last night, President Trump posted what appeared to be an AI generated video on his Truth Social account. It's basically a promotion for his plan for Gaza, which is to essentially turn the enclave into a lavish Gulf resort.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Hm. Maybe Trump isn't pissed that Iran is using AI. He's just pissed that there's no financial grift attached. But on the bright side, since our commander-in-chief is so well-versed in AI imagery, we don't have to worry about him falling for that kind of crap.

Trump: They showed all sorts of things happening in the last two weeks that never happened between their kamikaze boats that don't exist, between blowing up the aircraft carrier, one of the great ships in the world, the Abraham Lincoln on fire. They showed it on fire. I called the the general. I said, "Uh, general, what's with the Abraham Lincoln? It looks like it's burning down." No, it's not burning down. Not a bullet was ever fired at it, sir. They they know better.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Why is he telling on himself? Why does he insist on confessing to the world that he is a moron. Also, what a joy to be the general that is fielding Donald Trump's calls. No, sir. That email that you received, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward, forward. Biden has a body double is not in fact real.
Now, to be fair, we can't lay all the AI blame at Trump's feet. You have to save some for the National Republican Senatorial Committee who released an ad this week using an AI version of Democratic Senate hopeful James Talarico.
(cut to video)
Narrator: And now, a dramatic reading of James Talarico's most memorable tweets.
AI James Talarico: Oh, I remember this one. Radicalized white men are the greatest domestic terrorist threat in our country. (Ominous voice in background: White men.) So true. So true.
(cut to studio)
BTC: You know, I guess it makes sense why Republicans would want to use a fake Talarico, considering the real Talarico is dangerously close to kicking their ass this November.
It is truly the height of hypocrisy to have Donald Trump sit in front of the American people and complain about another country's spread of disinformation. It's the equivalent of Harvey Weinstein popping up at a Me Too protest because misinformation is what Trump does best. Well, not according to him. According to him, what he does best is this war with Iran.
(inset video)
Trump: We're pounding it. Like really pounding it hard.
BTC: I'd just like to say for the record what a lucky lady Melania is. But Donald Trump loves to get his lie on so much he did it today at the very same presser where he chastised Iran for spreading falsehoods.
(cut to video from Trump Kennedy Center Board Members Lunch)
Trump: I knew about the Strait that it would be a weapon which I predicted a long time ago. Predicted all of this stuff. You guys were very generous in that. I predicted all of it. I predicted Osama bin Laden would knock out the World Trade Center. I made that prediction a year before he did. I said, "You better get him. He's a bad guy." I watched him be interviewed one time and I said, "That's a bad guy. You better get him one year before." Exactly. I wrote it in a book. You can even check.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Oh, can we? How nice of you to let us fact check your claim knowing full well that you'll dismiss whatever result comes back unless it's completely in line with your lie. But since we're here, it turns out that a lot of people have checked numerous times because Donald Trump has been making this false claim forever.
The book Trump is referring to is called The America We Deserve. And in it, he makes a passing mention of bin Laden, but did no more than point to the al-Qaeda leader as one of many threats to US security. Nor does he say in the book that bin Laden should have been killed. And fun fact, that fact check came courtesy of Voice of America, the government funded news agency. So, I can see why Trump has been hellbent on killing that entire organization since he started his second term.
But just because Donald Trump continues to lie about his bin Laden prophecy doesn't mean he's been wrong about everything. He did know that by electing him twice, we'd receive the America we deserve. The Trump administration does not put a little spin on bad press or loosely try to reframe the narrative so that they're seen in a more positive light. On a daily basis they make a systematic effort to mislead voters by lying because they know that their team thrives under fear, chaos, and confusion.
And they're not shy about their efforts. Back in 2024, when Jared Delilah Vance was asked about Trump's completely false claim that

Trump: They're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're eating the cats.
BTC: Here's what he said.
(cut to video from CNN)
JD Vance: The people on the ground dealing with this think that it is happening. And I think that it's important for journalists to actually get on the ground and uncover this stuff for themselves when you have a lot of people saying, "My pets are being abducted or geese at the city pond are being abducted and slaughtered right in front of us." This is crazy stuff. And again, whether those exact rumors turn out to be mostly true, somewhat true, whatever the case may be, Caitlyn, this town has been ravaged by 20,000 migrants coming in.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Gosh, really brings me back to those multiple choice tests in high school when one of the possible answers was whatever the case may be.
This is how little respect these people have for their base and for Americans as a whole. If they are able to convince just enough voters that Democrats, immigrants, and DEI are responsible for their hardship, then they won't have to be held accountable. If just enough people buy into their bullshit then they won't have to explain why gas prices are up when they said they'd be down, why grocery prices are up when they said they'd be down, and why we're spending billions on a war in the Middle East when the biggest talking point of their whole campaign was no new wars. If America went to war because of this

Trump: They're a country based on disinformation.
BTC: I fear we might be next.
