Related: About this forumLet's talk about Trump, quotations, war, and knowing.... - Belle of the Ranch
Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump, quotations, war, and knowing.
Recently, we talked about how the US is seeking portable bunkers for troops in the Middle East and how this showed a lack of foresight about the potential responses and capabilities of Iran. Apparently pointing out that Trump started his elective operation too soon and wasn't prepared for the response has gotten in some feelings. But this is a good opportunity to point out that just because something is a well-known quote doesn't mean that it's correct. So, here's a message.
I'm sure as you sit there in your cozy little shack that it's real easy to criticize our troops. They're getting the bunkers because they're needed. But since you didn't know, you go to war with the army you have, not the one you want and thanks for putting it online, you effing idiot. You expect us to believe that you know what you're talking about when you publicly post something like that. You know nothing. Stay home and take care of your chickens.
But since you didn't know, you go to war with the army you have, not the one you want. That's a degraded version of a quote. The full quote is, "You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time." That's Donald Rumsfeld. He was the Secretary of Defense when the US went into Iraq and Afghanistan. Just curious, how did those work out?
I'm going to give you a different quote for future use. He will win who prepared himself waits to take the enemy unprepared. Do you believe we were prepared? That's Sun Tzu.
One of these guys doesn't have a great track record with his shoot from the hip approach. The other guy has been studied for thousands of years, but Sun Tzu wasn't a Republican or a Trump supporter, so I guess he doesn't matter.
That Rumsfeld quote only applies in a defensive war, not elective wars in which you have the chance to prepare. As far as putting that information online, I bet you felt really smart when you were typing that out. Stupid chicken lady doesn't know OpSec. I'll show her. But I have a question. Where do you think I got it? Did you have a mental image of me breaking into Langley Mission Impossible style?
The administration you trust put it online. Effing idiots.
Sun Tzu said there are five essentials for victory.
One, he will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. Do you think Trump chose a good time to start his elective war?
Two, he will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. Hopefully, we won't find out whether the US is ready to handle the inferior forces. That would be the insurgency that follows invasion in this context. But we don't have a good track record with this. We win the war and lose the peace.
Three, he will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks. Do you believe that the mission the troops are calling Operation Epstein Fury that has reportedly led to a thousand percent increase in conscientious objector information requests has created a good unified spirit?
Four, he will win who prepared himself waits to take the enemy unprepared. Were we prepared? I think that request kind of says we weren't.
Five, he will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign. No King's Day aside, the sovereign in this context would be Trump. Do you believe he's not interfering by constantly shifting the mission, victory conditions, and allocating assets based on politics?
How did Trump do in your assessment? To me, it looks like he's 0 for five.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
