The Constitution . . . Matters! - Glenn Kirschner
The Supreme Court just heard arguments on Donald Trump's attempt to take a Sharpie and cross out of the Constitution the guarantee of birthright citizenship, a move that even a Reagan-appointed federal judge wrote was "blatantly unconstitutional."
We all know that Donald Trump doesn't care about the US Constitution or the rights it was designed to protect. And now we wait to see if the Supreme Court will get this one right. Let's hope so, given that this one is NOT a close constitutional call.
This raises the question: how are the federal judges and the federal courts doing more generally in their handling of Trump's chronic lawless and unconstitutionality?
I just sat down with my friend, constitutional law professor, and true justice warrior, Kim Wehle, to talk about how the courts are doing. We also discussed the attempted destruction of the Department of Justice by Pam Bondi and company.
