I googled: is there a relationship between testosterone levels and propensity to blindly follow orders

Google AI responded:
Yes, high testosterone generally makes people less likely to blindly follow orders. Instead of blind compliance, this hormone is linked to status-seeking, dominance, and skepticism. High testosterone levels make individuals highly sensitive to their social rank and more likely to make decisions that assert their own authority. National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov)

Here is how testosterone impacts how we react to authority:
Lower Interpersonal Trust: High testosterone makes people less trusting of others and more likely to question orders rather than accept them at face value. National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov)

Impulse Over Reflection: Testosterone causes men to rely on quick, "gut" reactions rather than stopping to think if a choice makes sense. This means they act on personal desires rather than following rules. Caltech

Sensitivity to Status: People with high testosterone are more likely to submit if they know they are at the bottom of a ladder, but they are highly rebellious against bosses they do not respect. National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov)

Nonconformity: Research shows that high testosterone actually makes people more receptive to minority opinions rather than conforming to the majority. Sage Journals

Think of it like being the captain of a sports team. A player with high testosterone wants to be the star. They might ignore a coach's play if they think they can score on their own.

What if Hegseth has been told that gay men are more likely to score low testosterone levels? It doesn't even have to be true, if it's something he believes. What if his goal is really to find a legal way to reject gay men from the military?
