like Nixon had with Spiro Agnew. Someone who they could send out to say the bigoted, sexist crap while saying that was just the personal opinion of the VP and not of the President themselves. Deniability by providing distancing while still reaping their desired benefit of stirring the hate and ignorance.

and I wasn’t paying close attention to whether Agnew said racist crap during the campaign. JD Rants kicked off his campaign with racism and misogyny. That ‘unity’ schtick didn’t even last a single Scaramucci, did it?
