Governor Newsom has become a hero to me. Confronting the bully with steadfast determination. "Bring it on", he said when Jacob Soboroff asked him about Tom Homan (the mumbler) proclaiming that Governor Newsom should be arrested. Some time after Homan denied saying this. He actually could deny anything he said if he claimed that his words were misunderstood.
Newsom clearly and defiantly objecting to and standing up to the fascist regime. Urgently calling others to recognize the danger of 47's lawlessness, he shows strength and resolve. He demonstrates how to effectively counter false claims from the right on X with rapid response and quick wit, striking with powerful messages of defiance and scorn.
I feel inspired by him and believe the country needs democrats who have authority, bravery and the gift of fighting back with no fear of reciprocity. A great example of these politicians would be various governors we met during the last presidential campaign (and some who were not involved in that) Democratic Governors like Shapiro, Pritzker, Walz, Hobbs, Polis, Beshear, Whitmer and others. We need leaders who will fight the dangers we now face and tell us what we can and must do to preserve, protect and recover the American ways we believe in.
