If we're going to blast orange man for this, let's get our facts straight before looking foolish.

Treasury confirms it received check for Trump Organization foreign profits

The Treasury Department has received a check from the Trump Organization donating the profits that its hotels made from foreign governments, a department spokesperson said Monday.

The spokesperson confirmed that the Treasury Department has received a check from President Trump’s company, but did not reveal the amount it was for or what date it was received.

The Trump Organization on Monday told The Associated Press that the company has donated to the U.S. Treasury the profits made from foreign governments since President Trump’s election.

George Sorial, a Trump Organization executive vice president, said in a statement to the AP that the company sent a payment to the Treasury Department on Feb. 22.

Sorial didn’t disclose the amount of the payment, which was to cover all Trump profits from foreign governments received between Jan. 20 and Dec. 31, 2017, according to the AP.

I don't know whether The Hill or Mediaite is more accurate, but at least there is a video at the Mediaite link that has a discussion between CNN and Burchett. Thus it appears Mediaite's report is substantiated which was covered by Waldorf Nation, while what I see from The Hill is a dated article that is nearly six years old. Both articles may be accurate, but at least the video from Waldorf Nation that I posted is based a report that is verifiable.

It should also be noted that the 2018 article from The Hill has enough missing information, that nobody can be certain that the Trump's turned all proceeds over to the Treasury. Nor are we furnished information that the Trump's paid the Treasury in the subsequent years while he was president. So I'm in agreement, let's get our facts straight before looking foolish.

his hotels and paid nothing to the treasury is not accurate either. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I've done enough audits and reconciliations during my life that I'm not volunteering for the task though.
