Trump announces a bombshell new policy
after this weekend's shooting. White
Americans good, brown foreigners bad.
This is just another day.
Last week, most Americans took part in
the classic Thanksgiving tradition. And
today, the Monday after, most Americans
are taking part in another story
tradition, talking about all the racist
stuff they heard over the holidays. In
his late night post, the president said
an influx of refugees is the leading
cause of social dysfunction in America.
President Trump announced he would
permanently pause migration from quote
third-world countries. He is also
threatening to revoke US citizenship
from foreign born Americans who
undermine domestic tranquility.
Ah yes, we wouldn't want anyone to
undermine the domestic tranquility that
we're currently experiencing. I mean,
I'd hate to throw a wrench into our calm
serenity of this nation, to disturb the
peaceful, harmonious nature that, thanks
to Trump, has lulled our shores into a
soothing state of stillness. It would be
a real shame to upset the placidity in
which we all happily bathe on a daily
basis. I mean, what a national
tragedy would be to see us awoken from
the nirvanaesque state that we've been
so lucky to occupy thanks to our
enlightened yogi and chief.
Yes. In reaction to last week's tragic
shooting of two National Guard members
in Washington DC by a mentally unstable
Afghan national, Donald Trump has
decided to do what he does best. take
action based on none of the statistics.
According to an annual review of
criminology report, high concentrations
of immigrants are not associated with
increased levels of crime and
delinquency across neighborhoods and
cities in the United States. And a 2023
study by the National Bureau of Economic
Research found that immigrants are 60%
less likely to be incarcerated than
people born in the US. Sure, but let's
not forget that other study. They're
eating the dogs. The people that came
in, they're eating the cats. Gosh, it's
so hard to know who to believe. Ever
since he descended down that golden
escalator, Donald Trump and his
administration have used immigrants as a
scapegoat for all that ails America. And
this time is no different. The hard
truth is that even when it comes to our
legal immigration system, past
presidents have failed to ensure that
all pro prospective citizens love
America, will add value and contribute
to our communities, and will assimilate
into our culture. Yeah, that might be a
little challenging considering Americans
have slightly different views about what
our culture is. For example, a lot of
people think America is all about being
able to freely express yourself while
others
don't. But if I'm not mistaken, that
diversity is what our nation is supposed
to be about. America's entire identity
is based on people who weren't from
here, who came over here to create a
better life for themselves. We've even
got a whole ass statue off the coast of
New Jersey all about that. But under
this White House, that era is no longer.
How would uh refugees, people coming
from for places who are seeking a safe
haven in America, like many of our
forebears in this room, not uh add to
our nation's integrity and character of
our national identity? I'll tell you
what does not add to our nation's
character and integrity is uh refugees
who come here under the alleged plight
of asylum and fleeing persecution and
then come to the United States to abuse
our system and rip off American
taxpayers.
Wait, ripping off American taxpayers is
the standard for removal from the United
States? Oh, Caroline, sweet summer
child. I hate to be the one to tell you
this, but
Donald Trump is demanding $230 million
from the taxpayers as compensation for
investigations into him by the
Department of Justice. Next month's
military parade on the National Mall to
celebrate the Army's 250th anniversary.
Our partners at CBS News and the
Washington Post report the cost to
taxpayers could be as much as $45
million. And now with millions of
government employees going unpaid,
President Trump has announced a $20
billion bailout for Argentina. Democrats
tonight blasting the move, saying US
taxpayers are now paying for this. So uh
I hope Donald Trump is ready to make
some new friends at SECOT. But here's
the thing. Look at this response this
administration has taken in the
aftermath of a shooting by an Afghan
national, which is no doubt a tragic
occurrence. Within hours of the
shooting, US citizenship and immigration
services, announced an indefinite pause
on all immigration requests related to
Afghan nationals, including green card
applications, work permits, and family
reunification petitions that was quickly
expanded into a broader crackdown,
including a full-scale rigorous
re-examination of every green card
issued to individuals from 19 countries
deemed high- risk, including
Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, and
Venezuela. Then the administration
announced a complete halt to all asylum
decisions nationwide, pending enhanced
vetting procedures. The State Department
then stopped issuing visas to anyone
traveling on an Afghan passport,
effectively suspending even the special
immigrant visa program for the Afghan
allies of the US military. And then
Donald Trump announced that he would
permanently pause all immigration from
so-called third world countries. I mean,
listen to just how far Donald Trump was
willing to upend our immigration system.
In a social media post, the president
now threatening to ban people from what
he has called third-world countries. He's
vowing to deport anyone who is quote
incapable of loving our country or
non-compatible with Western
civilization.
Well, that should clear things up. I
mean, why bother with rigorous
interviews and background checks when we
can simply see where people land on the
Love for America meter? But here's the
thing. All of that was born out of one
shooting, which suggests that if this
White House wanted to take action in the
face of gun violence, they clearly
could, but they never seemed to want to.
Not once in the face of countless white
people, mostly disturbed young white
men. But suddenly, when an immigrant
takes part in this horrific trend,
Donald Trump wastes no time upending the
entire federal government to meet the
moment. Which raises the question, is it
acceptable when white people commit
shootings but not brown people? Are we
okay with shooters so long as they're
homegrown? Because I don't remember the
same outrage over this. Tonight, a
January 6th rioter pardoned by President
Trump is under arrest again, now charged
with making a terroristic threat to kill
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Thank
god he didn't have a name that sounded
all foreigny. The reality is one of two
things are going on here and both are
terrible. Either this administration
doesn't care about American citizens who
find themselves on the receiving end of
violence by their fellow white American
citizens or Donald Trump and the rest of
his administration are exploiting the
recent shooting in Washington DC to
enact their anti-immigrant agenda. Think
about it. When Americans are senselessly
killed by a brown person, Trump has zero
issue with throwing our entire
immigration system into chaos overnight.
But when Americans are senselessly
killed by a white person,
do you think it would have been fitting
to lower the flags to have staff when
Melissa Horman, the Minnesota House
Speaker, was gunned down by an assassin
as well?
Uh, I'm not familiar. Oh, the
the Minnesota House Speaker, a Democrat.
Oh, it's just a duly elected
representative who was tragically
murdered this summer. But knowing her
name doesn't fit your political agenda,
so I understand why you wouldn't
remember.
Well, if the governor had asked me to do
that, I would have done that. But the
governor of Minnesota didn't ask me. I
didn't uh I wouldn't have thought of
that, but I would have if somebody had
asked me. People make requests for the
lowering of flag. And often times you
have to say no because it would be a lot
of lowering. The flag would never be up.
And can you even imagine what it would
look like to live in a country like that
where every single day you have to read
about a flag being down. Think about how
senseless it would seem to have all
those downed flags. I can't even fathom
the horror when a parent gets a phone
call about a school being evacuated
because of a flag being down. Look, I
completely agree that our nation should
have a proper vetting process in place
where anyone here who might raise a red
flag deserves extra scrutiny. But I'm
not simply talking about our immigration
system. I am talking about anyone who
show signs that they could inflict harm
on Americans.
Investigators telling us that when he
was shot, he was carrying a long gun,
three handguns, which he was able to
reload. He was also uh in possession of
body armor and he had a lot of
ammunition.
Salvador Ramos purchased an AR platform
rifle from a local gun store last
Tuesday, 375 rounds of ammunition
Wednesday, and another AR style rifle
Friday
along with nearly 50 guns and 18,000 in
cash. They found a note card with the
names of public officials and the states
they live in. Armed with an AR-15 style
weapon and 600 rounds of ammunition,
police say the suspect, Orlando Harris's
shooting rampage could have been even
worse.
That's right. It could have been way
worse. The shooter could have been an
immigrant. No matter how many Americans
are killed by deranged shooters, Donald
Trump and the Republicans are more than
happy to stand in the way of any piece
of gun legislation for fear that it
might infringe on their fellow citizens
being allowed to assemble a
military-grade arsenal inside their
home. an arsenal that they then use to
mow down Americans as the GOP fights
tooth and nail to protect their right to
do it. And yet, when that same crime is
perpetuated by an immigrant, suddenly
they recognize the horror in a shooting.
And they will move heaven and earth to
ensure that it never happens again by
imposing consequences on any other human
being who's immigrated here, in the
process of immigrating here, or plans to
immigrate here. America ranks number one
in shootings, mass shootings, and
overall gun violence. So, to be fair,
the administration is consistent on one
thing. They hate when immigrants come
here to take American jobs.
