The RW pushes its lies and threats 24 by 7 by 365.
By election time, it's too late to make our case.
Please refine and add a social issues section.
And let's get the message out before it's too damn late to do so.
These were jotted down before the necessity of restoring the country to its pre-wrecking-ball state.
----------------
raising the minimum wage,
expanding Social Security,
guaranteeing health care as a human right,
cutting the cost of prescription drugs,
paid family and medical leave,
equal pay for equal work,
more affordable housing,
making childcare and higher education affordable to all,
taking on the existential threat of climate change.
a government and an economy that works for all of us and not just the billionaire class and the Oligarchs.
ALSO from a much earlier post I made.

Every person is guaranteed
a. rights, opportunity, and equity,
b. equal opportunity to make a good living,
c. respect,
Free speech!
Government is by the people and for the people.
The legal system protects rights, especially of minorities.
Things we oppose
Money and power are concentrated in the hands of a few.
Business grows by monopoly aggregation and by stifling competition.
DE-regulation and disrespect of constitutional rights.
Government enforces "the economic order" (a caste system)
Workers and voters are kept from uniting, chiefly by a divide and conquer strategy, i.e culture wars.
Welfare for the rich.
Rampant hate speech, and threats, either by government or individuals.
---------------
My proposed REVOLUTIONARY fixes.
Rapid development of sex robots for incels. (Keeps them off the internet)
Flooding the country with fake meth) Placebo ® brand).
Taking the "cryme" out of "crypto" (remove any anonymity)
MORE COMING

I put a lot of work into the post.
I hope there's a positive payoff
Not for my ego. That stopped getting fed long ago.
But for others.
Did we remain silent while this propaganda war went on?
Is water wet?

(1,831 posts)But economics is mental , hate is gut. Now if you told them that we could keep all those pesky minorities poor and under your control, Jim Crow. They would vote for you in a New York second. But minorities want a piece of the cake and unless you take away their right to vote ,that wont fly. Oh thats a lie to get your vote we are still going to steal your future.

(1,831 posts)It is one of the most beautiful states in the union. They vote to let robber barons steal everything and level their mountains and they get no economic benefit. They always vote republican.

(1,831 posts)Just as their virgin timber ancient trees cut down and shipped to cities, which caused mudslides and flooding, next it was coal boom and bust and black lung. They are okay as long as they can feel superior.

(1,108 posts)Propaganda, media manipulation, and social media. Brainwashing is easy. Just seems only fascists are "good" at it.
That's doubly true in a state with one of the worst education systems in the nation.

(1,108 posts)No disrespect, Usonian; it's not on you. I fully agree with your points. But it was 1972 when McGovern ran for POTUS. Democrats have promised or hinted at most aspects of this for over 50 years now. Nothing like it has passed. I've grown a beard waiting for it. Literally. The Party is a "big tent," where one group cancels out the other. One might be forgiven for thinking that was by design. It is run by liberal moderates (Newspeak for conservatives) who REALLY don't want to see any of this stuff become law; assuming the Party ever gets the chance to legislate sometime in the future. At this point that seems unlikely. It's not quite dead, but it's not at all well. They're happy to let Bernie and AOC talk and hold rallies when the Democrats are out of power, but seem happier paving the way for another GOP landslide through inaction and bipartisanship whilst they're in power.
It's not me or many (most?) of us you need to convince. It's the folks at the pinnacle of the Democratic Party hierarchy. They seem remarkably uninterested in any such programs, or of having a program at all. The Party should be wanting to develop an EFFECTIVE media/propaganda machine. Yesterday. They then should probably develop principles and a program as you have outlined, and demonstrate their commitment by expelling elected official who don't adhere to said principles (I'm thinking Fetterman, Cuellar, Golden, etc., as possible candidates). But until those things happen (and others that will come to me the instant I post this but not one moment before), expecting "swing voters" or non-voters to "see the light" seems a stretch.
Political parties in nation states are hierarchies. And a fish stinks from the head.

(432 posts)Affordable health care, housing, child care, and education will be part of her platform as Governor of New Jersey.
These could be the national conversation talking points to bring more voters back to our election column.
