A very good friend of mine is running for state rep

I met her a few years back while volunteering for a local nonprofit. She's an amazing person who is right for the job, right for the time.

I'd been nudging her to run for office for a while when she calls me up one day and says "I'm doing it!".

I'm now helping her with the campaign and this is a brand new endeavor for both of us. She doesn't have a primary challenger, so we decided to keep back and watch the two gopers slug it out.

This is in the rural red south. This is where a true grassroots movement is being seeded.

The plan is to wait and see who she'll face in November's general. She's smart, patient, and poised. An Air Force veteran, high school teacher, community organizer, nonprofit liason, - topping it off with a PhD.

OmahaSteve has graciously offered to announce her campaign and actblue account when everything is ready to go next month.

I'd like to go ahead and share the link to her actblue account in case anyone would like to chip in a few bucks. We've got fundraisers ready to announce in March, but she could really need a bit of help with some basic supplies in the mean time.

Neither one of us has ever run for office, nor ran a campaign. I have this gut feeling that we might just mess around and win this thing.

I'm proud to be a part of her journey.
