I am endorsing Rev. Senator Rafael Warnock for President

He is heir to Dr. Martin Luther King in many ways.

On Father's Day 2005, Warnock was named senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, Martin Luther King Jr.'s former congregation.

Senator Warnock is a political activist.

From Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_Warnock

Political activism

Warnock came to prominence in Georgia politics as a leader in the campaign to expand Medicaid in the state.[49] In 2013, he wrote an editorial for the Atlanta Journal Constitution that criticized Governor Nathan Deal for not supporting an integrated prom at the Wilcox County High School.[50] In March 2014, Warnock led a sit-in at the Georgia State Capitol to press state legislators to accept the expansion of Medicaid offered by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.[51][52] He and other leaders were arrested during the protest.[51][53] Warnock also actively campaigned for Georgia Democrats to increase outreach to low-income communities.[54] In 2015, Warnock considered running in the 2016 election for the United States Senate seat held by Johnny Isakson as a member of the Democratic Party.[55] He opted not to run.[56][57]

From June 2017 to January 2020, Warnock chaired the New Georgia Project, a nonpartisan organization founded by Democrat Stacey Abrams and focused on increasing voter registration.[58][39] The New Georgia Project and its affiliate the New Georgia Project Action Fund secretly campaigned for Abrams in her 2018 gubernatorial campaign in Georgia and for other Democratic political campaigns in the state. It also illegally campaigned for an unsuccessful MARTA referendum in Gwinnett County. In 2025, it admitted to 16 violations of state campaign finance laws related to its illegal partisan activities and was ordered to pay $300,000 by the Georgia State Ethics Commission, the largest fine for campaign finance violations in state history. The New Georgia Project raised and spent millions of dollars in its partisan efforts and failed to disclose its activities or properly register as an independent political committee.[59][60][61]

Warnock supports expanding the Affordable Care Act and has called for the passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.[62][49] He also supports increasing COVID-19-relief funding.[63] A proponent of abortion rights and gay marriage, he has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood.[64][65] He opposes the concealed carry of firearms, saying that religious leaders do not want guns in places of worship.[66] Warnock has long opposed the death penalty.[67]

And, in my book, as a religious person who WALKS THE WALK, he puts the BIG LIE to "twisted Christians" who preach a gospel of hate and destruction.

I submit Raphael Warnock for President of the United States.

Not so crazy. After Trump, we need a unifier. Warnock could do that. Tim S 15 hrs ago #1

No question that Warnock is good or even great. But, I look forward to a primary with a robust debating of ideas. Intractable 11 hrs ago #5

Otherwise I agree with your assessment of him.

I don’t expect him to run in 2028.

Society has stripped all the virtue out of religion and replaced it with empty words and vile deeds. Matter of fact, society has its own golden God.

All mystic experience converges. Most religions lock their mystics in a closet because the non-duality of the universe leaves no room for "priestly" intermediaries to gain power and advantage (like over innocent kids).

David Loy traces this back to "Canon Law"

The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life

There's little left of the spirit in organized religions.

But we Dems stand for the kind of virtue that was lost, religion or not.

Some, like Dr. King, got that.

A good shepherd cares for their flock, even if it's just for the wool.

The kind of shepherds we have now just send them to the slaughterhouse.

A real person of virtue puts to shame the hypocrites. That person doesn't have to be religious, but I ask you: Who the hell is a virtuous person nowadays? I go looking, like Diogenes, and found one.

A virtuous person shines with a light from within. Others all shine by reflected light. Dimly.

Look deeply.,

Also, one election at a time.

Things are changing so fast, like AI, energy crises, politics, war, etc. We just don't know what the world will be like in 2028.
