"What Donald Trump is saying is shameful, it is disrespectful to the people who were killed and wounded and their families," Clinton said at an event in Pittsburgh.
"But Donald won't listen to any of this because he says he knows more about ISIS than the generals do," Clinton said. "It's almost hard to even think of what to say about that claim."
Clinton also put Trump on blast for once being a leader of the “birther” movement in questioning President Barack Obama's birthplace until she said Trump "had to be reminded that Hawaii is part of the United States."
She then segued to Trump's attack on the federal judge presiding over Trump University cases in California. Trump questioned U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel's ability to fairly judge those cases because of his "Mexican heritage.” Curiel was born in Indiana.
"He had to be reminded Indiana is in the United States," Clinton said.
She called Trump's suggestion that President Obama was somehow connected to extremists "way beyond anything that should be said by someone running for President of the United States."

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Tuesday called on Republicans to renounce their support for Donald Trump, saying he exploited this weekend's mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando as an excuse to foment hatred towards immigrants and Muslim Americans.
“Donald Trump proved that he is a terrible leader, as he is a terrible businessman,” Reid said in an address from the Senate floor. “Trump proved he is not the person to lead our nation through difficult times, or in fact any time. Trump failed the most important of tests for a presidential candidate: How to respond in a crisis when our citizens are under attack.”
In a speech Monday laying out his response to the Orlando shooting, Trump reiterated his call for a ban on Muslim immigrants and charged that “political correctness” was crippling the US response to potential terrorist attacks. The presumptive GOP nominee also suggested that President Barack Obama may be cooperating with jihadi extremists, telling Fox News, “There’s something going on.” In the same Fox interview, Trump alleged that American Muslims are aware of potential terrorists in their communities but are either afraid or unwilling to come forward.
“How do you look your son or daughter in the eye and explain that a man running for president is telling your classmates to be suspicious of you, to doubt your loyalty to this country based upon your religion?” Reid asked. “Solely on your religion, purely on your religion. You can't explain it. I can't explain it. It's not possible to explain.”

In the rhetoric of Donald Trump, mendacity and cynicism compete for equal time. It is hard to say which prevailed today as the Republican Party standard-bearer, a man who pretends to the most powerful political office in the land, tweeted this at his followers: “Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism.”
This came in the wake of the most horrific mass shooting in the history of the United States—a slaughter of fifty men and women in an L.G.B.T. night club called Pulse, in Orlando, early Sunday morning. Trump allowed that he didn’t want “congrats” so much as he wanted “toughness & vigilance.” Just as profoundly, he announced, “We must be smart!”
Trump also told his followers—and hence the world—that President Obama should “immediately resign in disgrace” for failing to “mention the words radical Islam” in his remarks on the shooting. And, he suggested, Hillary Clinton might want to get out of the Presidential race for making the same sin of omission in her statement.
With every month, it has become clearer that Trump is a makeshift politician, whose rancid wit resides in his willingness to say whatever it takes to arouse the fears of a political base. He might have started his campaign with the idea of winning some votes and publicity, increasing his profile as a marketing whiz, and then dropping out. Good for business! But now that he has stunned the political world—and, likely, himself—he has shown little inclination (or, perhaps, capacity) to grow into his role, to modify his language, be it for the sake of the Republican establishment or of simple decency. He’ll have none of that. Whatever inflates his sense of self and prods the anxieties of the country—that’s what works for him.

PARK CITY, Utah — Donald Trump can be an effective president, and he’s going to win with you or without you, Republican Chairman Reince Priebus told several hundred of the party’s top donors and strategists Saturday.
Trump is setting a dangerous example for Americans by promoting “trickle-down racism,” and the party must look beyond this presidential election to find its future, the 2012 nominee Mitt Romney told the same group later that morning.
Delivered within moments of each other at Romney’s annual business and politics summit at a five-star ski resort, those opposite messages were enough to cause whiplash. That’s a hazard of being a Republican this year, as the party struggles to figure out what to do with its controversial presumptive presidential nominee.
Blinking back tears as he spoke, an impassioned Romney said many have asked him to get off his “high horse” and back Trump, seeing presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as unacceptable. “Either choice is destructive,” Romney said. “I love this country. I love the founders. I love what this country is built upon, and its values. And seeing this is breaking my heart.”
