While some may think this rhetoric sounds reasonable and smart, it's not.
In fact it's dangerous.
Business goals and our government's goals are at odds. They are often at times at war and this is for good reason.
Our government was established with the goals of the "general welfare" of all citizens and for, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". We established a representative democracy to achieve these goals through our collective voices.
We established a "Bill of Rights" to assure our rights would be protected from mob rule.
There is no "democracy" in business unless the workers form a union. In business you have winners and you have losers. It's a dictatorship for the most part. Top down rule with the goal of profit.
Mussolini coined the word "fascism" as when "government and private interests merge" and we saw the results in Germany 80 years ago.
The fact that Jared talks like this really points to the utter lack of understanding about the completely different functions of government vs business.
And these fools are in charge of our country.
.
This is well past Watergate level
This was a foreign invasion.
Those that sided and abetted better start copping plea deals and squealing their heads off because this time I don't think justice is going to fuck around.
I hear there's panic in the Whitehouse.
I favor democracy
Ultimately the public sector and public programs are held accountable by activism and democracy.
If you don't like something City Hall is doing for instance you can attended the council meetings and voice and/or vote your concerns. That's democracy in action.
Apply this to any crucial program like health insurance for instance. The fact that people want to place their health access and coverage in the hands of profit motivated private insurance where we have no voice rather than a public health insurance which would ultimately be held accountable to our voice via democracy is mind boggling to me. Private means less public control yet that's where we are now.

The Moscow Project... you need to see this
Sorry if this is a duplicate post but it's too important to not post.
Fantastic timeline.
Trump and Russia: A Timeline
The American people need answers, and that requires an independent, bipartisan commission to fully investigate all aspects of Russias operation targeting the 2016 presidential election.

Obamacare isnt failing. Its being destroyed by Republicans
If and when the ACA fails we need to remember where to place blame - Republicans.
Obamacare isnt failing. Its being destroyed by Republicans
They withdrew TV and online advertising encouraging people to sign up for coverage during the crucial period before the deadline. The White House issued an executive order and took other actions that strongly implied it would no longer enforce the "individual mandate" requiring people to sign up for coverage. And the constant promises of imminent repeal have spooked both insurers and individuals from participating.

And before tRump there was Marco Rubio:
Marco Rubio Quietly Undermines Affordable Care Act
DEC. 9, 2015
The attack stems from two years of effort by Senator Marco Rubio and others in Congress to undermine a key financing mechanism in the law. So for all the Republican talk about dismantling the Affordable Care Act, one Republican presidential hopeful has actually done something toward achieving that goal.

And last but not least the Scalia SCOTUS:
Court holds that states have choice whether to join medicaid expansion

Single Payer has been brought forward in California
The ACHA is going nowhere and the GOP backup plan is to keep killing the ACA
They've already started by making Medicaid expansion optional for states and underfunding risk corridors.
So where does that leave us?
How about a single payer system in California to start and it sweeps the nation?
Californians for a Healthy California Act Seeks One Plan, More Choice for Residents
Every California resident has one plan and more choice.
No more plan-switching or guesswork when insurance rates or plans change.
You pick your doctor, not health insurers.
Clinicians make decisions about care, not computers.
By pooling health care funds in a publicly-run fund we get the bargaining power of the seventh largest economy.
We cut out insurance company waste and duplication.
No more out of control co-pays and high deductibles.
Public oversight on costs and care, not decisions made in secret.

When Republicans call Obamacare a 'disaster'
They are projecting what they are going to do, and have done to the ACA already.
They are the party responsible for weakening it and they continue to kill it.
I just wish one mainstream news media person would point this out.
Make Love not War
Price Says 'Nobody Will Be Worse Off Financially'
So let's recap shall we...
EPA's Pruitt says, " I don't 'believe' CO2 causes global warming".
Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price said on Sunday that he believes "nobody will be worse off financially" under the Republican bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
So there you have it.
We just have to believe my friends. Hallelujah!
