Virus Surge Disrupts Office-Return Plans

We had a firm meeting by means of zoom and the firm is slowing down the plans to fully re-open the office. We are not alone
https://politicalwire.com/2021/07/24/virus-surge-disrupts-office-return-plans/

When companies began announcing tentative return-to-office plans this spring, there was a sense of optimism behind the messages. Covid cases were dwindling in the United States as the vaccine rollout picked up pace. Employers largely hoped their workers would get shots on their own, motivated by raffle tickets, paid time off and other perks, if not by the consensus of the medical community.”

“In recent days, that tone has suddenly shifted. The Delta variant, a more contagious version of the coronavirus, is sweeping through the country. Fewer than half of Americans are fully vaccinated, exacerbating the situation… It all adds up to a difficult calculation for America’s business leaders, who hoped the country would already be fully on a path to normalcy, with employees getting back to offices. Instead, individual companies are now being forced to make tough decisions that they had hoped could be avoided, such as whether to reverse reopening plans or institute vaccine mandates for employees.”

My firm keeps track of who has been vaccinated. We have two staff members who have not been vaccinated and they have to wear masks when they are in the public spaces in the office/ We were going to have everyone in the office five days a week by September. Currently my secretary is in the office 3 days a week and I have been going in a great deal more.

We discussed the plans to slow down at the meeting. We have canceled the annual firm dinner, a farewell lunch for a long time employee and the monthly cake day for birthdays. There was some good joking about cake day.

My son's firm is also slowing down full re-opening.

Pelosi appoints Kinzinger to 1/6 House select committee

Source: CNN

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Sunday she has appointed GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger to the House select committee to investigate the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

"Today, I am announcing the appointment of Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger, an Air Force veteran and Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, to serve on the Select Committee," she said in a statement. "He brings great patriotism to the Committee's mission: to find the facts and protect our Democracy."

Kinzinger, a vocal Republican critic of former President Donald Trump who was one of 10 House Republicans to vote for his second impeachment, is joining Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming as the only Republicans on the new select committee.

"Let me be clear, I'm a Republican dedicated to conservative values, but I swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution—and while this is not the position I expected to be in or sought out, when duty calls, I will always answer," Kinzinger said in a statement.

Juanita Jean's son is seeking to keep asshole Alex Jones attorney from being admitted in Texas

I am friends with Juanita Jean aka Susan Bankston and Susan's son Mark Bankston is representing a group of the plaintiffs suing Alex Jones and INfoWars in Texas. So far this issue of deposing Hillary Clinton has not come up in Texas https://www.thedailybeast.com/alex-jones-last-ditch-defense-in-sandy-hook-lawsuit-depose-hillary-clinton?ref=scroll

Jones and his affiliated companies are facing four Sandy Hook lawsuits in Texas, with the first set to start in March 2022. Mark Bankston, an attorney representing Sandy Hook families in the cases, said a deposition of Clinton hasn’t become a topic in the Texas suits—for now.

“InfoWars has not yet requested Secretary Clinton’s deposition in our case,” Mark Bankston, a lawyer handling the Texas cases, wrote in an email to The Daily Beast. “We’ll see what happens.”

The current Alex Jones attorney in the New Jersey case is bringing this matter because an asshole named Marc Randazza was booted from the Connecticut case. https://juanitajean.com/a-quick-alex-jones-update/

Again, I don’t know a whole lot to tell you because depositions in the Jones care are still going on. All I can say is that when I do get a few minutes to talk to Little Bubba, he is tired but happy.

I can tell you this. The Jones lawyer in the Connecticut cases is not faring well.

Honey, it takes some real special abilities to be more unethical than Alex Jones.

Today Mark filed a 35+ page brief with almost 200 pages of attachments to prevent Randazza from being admitted to practice law in Texas. Susan texted me the filing and I have not figured out how to cut and paste. There is some good stuff in this filing.

I did quick search on Randazza and found the following

I will try to cut and paste Mark's filing and post the good stuff.

This will be fun to watch. Alex Jones is a scum bucket and his attorneys are all scum buckets. I hope that Mark wins this case
