article: by Martin O Malley
The Supreme Court is now considering challenges from two states on how we draw congressional districts: a Wisconsin map drawn by a Republican governor, and a Maryland map drawn by a Democratic governor me.
We have historically allowed a partisan motive in redrawing these borders every 10 years to account for population growth and shifts. But now, at a time of deep division and polarization in our national politics, the court is re-examining that. It could end up reining in or maybe even disallowing partisan motives in redistricting.
For the sake of our democracy, I sincerely hope that's what the court does.
I was a re-elected governor of Maryland in 2010 on the eve of national redistricting. It was not a good year for Democrats. We lost governors races in quite a few states where Democratic voters actually outnumbered Republicans.

WTH??? huge ratings for the Rosanne??? Were people just curious or what??
The revival of Roseanne made a massive impact in its return on Tuesday night in the Nielsen overnight ratings.
ABC aired back-to-back episodes of the show from 8-9 p.m., with the show generating a staggering 5.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 18.2 million viewers for the hour. For comparison, NBCs revival of Will & Grace at the beginning of this season drew a 3.0 and 10.2 million viewers in its premiere, while the launch of Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon drew a 3.8 and 17.2 million. The Conner familys return after 20 years no doubt drew plenty of nostalgia viewers, while others were surely motivated to watch to see how series creator Roseanne Barrs support of President Trump would play out onscreen.
The only scripted show this season to outperform Roseanne was the post-Super Bowl episode of This Is Us, which drew a 9.3 and 26.97 million viewers.

Ha,ha, faux noise is a tad peeved that airports are showing CNN 24 - 7
(and I know its from faux that I got this). and has CNN turned to the left recently???
CNNs ubiquitous presence in airports -- where it broadcasts from thousands of screens to a captive audience of millions -- is facing new scrutiny after the cable network's hard left turn.
The CNN Airport network dates back to when CNN was known for straightforward news programming -- and has been a fixture at airports since before competitors MSNBC and Fox News even existed. But critics are now asking if busy travelers should be subjected to CNNs increasingly ideological programming -- at gates, bars, food courts and baggage claims -- which can include on-screen chyrons or subtitles that gleefully mock President Trump. Many travelers have even taken to Twitter and started online petitions to urge airports to change the channel.

The rider in the Uber vehicle is NOW at fault??? Ah come on......
The woman who was hit by a self-driving Uber vehicle this week in Arizona could be blamed for the incident, an expert said.
Video released Wednesday of Sunday's accident in Tempe, Ariz., shows the car not appearing to brake or steer away from pedestrian Elaine Herzberg, 49, as she walked across an open lane and in front of the car.
Herzberg appeared to be looking away from the oncoming vehicle, while an in-car camera shows Uber driver Rafaela Vasquez looking down at something below the dashboard, out of view of the camera, before the collision.
Drivers remain behind the wheel of Uber's cars to take over when the cars' autonomous systems fail.
