Two tips for making your vote count this year in Texas:
1. DO NOT vote Tues Oct 13 - Mon Oct 19. DO vote Tues Oct 20 - Fri Oct 30.
2. DO NOT vote straight-ticket. DO vote for each individual candidate, even if you are voting all for one party.
The governor has extended early voting by one week, so that it will begin a week earlier. The governor is being sued for this. If a court finds that extending early voting is illegal, and you have voted during that time, then your vote could potentially be contested. It is safer to vote during early voting when your vote is less likely to be contested. It is also safer to avoid the polls on Election Day for various reasons.
Also, a Texas judge has stated that Texas cannot prevent people from voting a straight-party ticket. If we do have a straight-party ticket option and this option is contested as unfair, then your vote could potentially be thrown out if you take the straight-party option. It is safer to vote for each candidate individually regardless of whether you will be voting straight-party.

HOUSTON A lot of people are understandably concerned about voting in person during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thats one of the reasons a record number of voters have requested mail-in ballots. But now that Gov. Greg Abbott has limited counties to one drop-off location for those ballots, most voters would have to drive miles out of their way or take their chance with the post office.

Why must the debates .....
Be done in person? Seems like they could do a perfectly good debate on Zoom. No one would be expiosed to anything. Plexiglass not needed.
I need help and I'm not sure where to turn
My husband seems to have a problem with OCD and it is causing me problems.
In the morning we get up and he gets dressed and when he's ready to leave he insists we check the water. off. If I don't go he says "come on, please " until I do. He insists I go into the bathroom with me and ask me if the water in the tub is off.
Then the water in the sink. Sometimes, he wants to go back and check again.
Then the kitchen. We have to check the sink and the stove.
He also has to stare at the washer and dryer for a while and sometimes check various electrical outlets. Today he left the house and came back 15 minutes later and insisted I check the water again. He doesn't think it's a problem. We don't currently have insurance. What can I do?
Finally got a real job.
I've been a substitute teacher and an Uber driver for about 5 years and then was on Unemployment until the extra $600 a week ran out. Well, I finally got a work from home job. It doesn't pay a lot right away but there is a pay raise and health insurance after 60 days. And a $475 bonus after 60 days. I'll be supporting cell phones, laptops and computers. I'm excited. I did this for 17 years, 5 of them from home and I'm back to doing it again.
Well Monday is V day
I just got a call and Monday I will get a Covid-19 vaccination or a placebo. Wish me luck. I hope I get the actual vaccination.
Every time I see a Trump commercial on TV I smile
even though the content of the ad may make my blood boil because I live in Texas and I know that if he's having to spend money in Texas he's worried that he could lose here. And even if he wins here, money spent here is money he's not able to spend in North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Ohio or Florida.
Saw an Anti-Biden ad on Telemundo
I was watching Noticias (news) on Telemundo in the 5-6 hour just now and saw a Spanish language attack ad against Joe Biden.
I couldn't find the ad online anywhere.
Basically it said in Spanish that the United States is 16% Hispanic and Biden didn't consider any Hispanic women for VP and ends with:
Joe Biden no cree que las mujeres hispanas sean lo suficientemente buenas.
Translation: Joe Biden doesn't think Hispanic women are good enough.
Like Trump has an Hispanic running mate or something, right?
Honestly, I don't think this is really going to sway any Hispanics that weren't already leaning toward Trump. I thought it was pretty pathetic.
