There are a lot of reasons that someone would wear their mask in the car. It is possible that some are "virtue signaling" but it could be that you forgot to take it off, you just went to one store and are going to another and don't want to go to the hassle of taking it on and off. You are about to pick someone up that you feel you need to social distance from. You don't want to touch your face or the front of the mask, etc. It is awfully judgmental of someone to assume you are "virtue signaling" because you are wearing a mask in a place where they don't think it's necessary.
My strategy
I live in Houston and have started going to restaurants again but I have a strategy.
1. I only go to lunch after 1:30. I haven't gone to dinner but if I did it would be after 7pm.
2. I don't go to a particular restaurant if it seems busy
3. I wear my mask in.
4. I bring Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer
5. I make sure I sit at least 10-12 feet away from anyone. I sit outside if possible
6. I wipe my table and sanitize my hands
7. I hurry up and leave if it starts to get crowded.
8. I sanitize my hands when I leave.
I think this strategy is fairly safe. Plus, although I can't verify it (couldn't get tested) , I think I may have had a very mild case in March.
I wish
Kevin Hassett would wipe that stupid smile off his face when he's talking about all this horrible economic news. He seems so gleeful. I want to slap him.

Something's been driving me crazy for years
I used to listen to KTRU (Rice University radio in Houston, Texas) back when I was in my mid twenties from 1982 to about 1986. It had a lot of cool alternative music some of which later became mainstream (REM, U2, Talking Heads).
During that time there are several songs that I remember part of the lyrics, sort of. One in particular had a line that mentioned "old colonials " saying something like "they should leave before they get what they deserve ". Anyone remember that song and who sang it. It's been bothering me for years. I remember hearing it around 1985 but it could have been released earlier. I think it might have been British.
