GOP has already learned that he's not Trump, as seen on TV. He's Trump as seen on Twitter.

Mr. McConnell, who kept the president at a polite arm’s length while he oversaw negotiations over the bill, asked Mr. Trump to arrange the meeting with all 52 Republican senators during a morning phone call, in part to show senators the White House was in fact fully engaged, according to two people with knowledge of the call.

***The problem for Trump is that Republican Senators have met him. They’ve learned already that he’s not Donald Trump, as seen on TV. He’s Donald Trump … as seen on Twitter.***

When asked by reporters clustered on the blacktop outside the West Wing if Mr. Trump had command of the details of the negotiations, Mr. McConnell ignored the question and smiled blandly.

Buried in a New York Times recap of Tuesday’s GOP meeting with Trump was an anonymous quote from a senate staffer who attended the event at the White House.

“A senator who supports the bill left the meeting at the White House with a sense that the president did not have a grasp of some basic elements of the Senate plan — and seemed especially confused when a moderate Republican complained that opponents of the bill would cast it as a massive tax break for the wealthy,” the Times reported a senate staffer revealed.

The senator also said that Trump said he would navigate tax reform later, and seemed to ignore the tax implications that are part of the new health bill.

Trump then went on to declare victory of the meeting.

“I just finished a great meeting with the Republican Senators concerning HealthCare,” he tweeted. “They really want to get it right, unlike OCare!”

“If we don’t get it done it’s just going to be something that we’re not going to like and that’s OK and I understand that very well,” Trump said before the press was asked to leave the meeting.

MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WOULD GIVE UP ALCOHOL TO SEE DONALD TRUMP IMPEACHED, SURVEY SAYS

While fights persist around the legalization of marijuana, Americans continue to drink legal alcohol. As Homer Simpson once said “Here’s to alcohol, the reason for and the solution to all of life’s problems.” A new survey shows that while many Americans love to drink, most would give up the sweet enjoyments of alcohol if it meant impeaching Donald Trump.

Nearly 73 percent of Democrats and 17 percent of Republicans said they would abstain from alcohol for the rest of their lives if they could see the official political process begin to remove Trump, according to a Detox.net survey of 1,013 men and women nationwide. The latest data set showing support for Trump’s impeachment—an exhaustive political process that includes no definite promise of his removal—comes at a time when multiple Democratic lawmakers are drafting articles of impeachment and at some point could bring them to the floor of Congress.

Meanwhile, more than 30 percent of Republicans surveyed said they’d quit drinking in order to have the media stop writing negative articles about Trump, compared to 6.5 percent of Democrats.

Seymour Hersh: Trump Knew Assad Did Not Deploy Sarin Before Missile Strike.

Seymour Hersh: Trump Knew Assad Did Not Deploy Sarin Before Missile Strike.

Pulitzer Prize and George Orwell Award winning journalist Seymour Hersh has written an in depth article for German Publication Welt that affirms what some of us suspected, that Trump’s Cruise Missile Attacks on a Syrian airbase in April were aimed to boost political, and not military objectives.

“The available intelligence made clear that the Syrians had targeted a jihadist meeting site on April 4 using a Russian-supplied guided bomb equipped with conventional explosives. Details of the attack, including information on its so-called high-value targets, had been provided by the Russians days in advance to American and allied military officials in Doha, whose mission is to coordinate all U.S., allied, Syrian and Russian Air Force operations in the region.

Some American military and intelligence officials were especially distressed by the president's determination to ignore the evidence. "None of this makes any sense," one officer told colleagues upon learning of the decision to bomb. "We KNOW that there was no chemical attack ... the Russians are furious. Claiming we have the real intel and know the truth ...”

The article makes it clear that the deadly gas produced in the attack resulted from destruction of fertilizer and chlorine stored in the targeted building. Deploying Sarin produces no explosive effect.

And also makes clear Trump’s ultimate objective.

“After the meeting, with the Tomahawks on their way, Trump spoke to the nation from Mar-a-Lago, and accused Assad of using nerve gas to choke out “the lives of helpless men, women and children. It was a slow and brutal death for so many ... No child of God should ever suffer such horror.” The next few days were his most successful as president. America rallied around its commander in chief, as it always does in times of war. Trump, who had campaigned as someone who advocated making peace with Assad, was bombing Syria 11 weeks after taking office, and was hailed for doing so by Republicans, Democrats and the media alike. One prominent TV anchorman, Brian Williams of MSNBC, used the word “beautiful” to describe the images of the Tomahawks being launched at sea. Speaking on CNN, Fareed Zakaria said: “I think Donald Trump became president of the United States.” A review of the top 100 American newspapers showed that 39 of them published editorials supporting the bombing in its aftermath, including the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal.”

This is fine everything is fine.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer announced the news in a statement late Monday.

"The United States has identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children. The activities are similar to preparations the regime made before its April 4, 2017 chemical weapons attack.

As we have previously stated, the United States is in Syria to eliminate the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. If, however, Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price."

By Tuesday morning, national security officials were getting briefs on what prompted the White House to release the statement warning Syria not to launch chemical weapons attacks on its civilians.

Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, told reporters that in the last 24 hours there was evidence that the regime was preparing for the "possible use of chemical weapons" based on activity at Shayrat Airfield, the same base that the US military struck in April for it suspected chemical weapons attack on Syrian civilians. There was evidence that the regime was moving specific airplanes on the airfield that could be used in such an attack, according to Davis.

A defense official told BuzzFeed News that there were other indications beyond plane movements, but would not give more specifics.

When asked who had obtained the intelligence, the Pentagon only offered a snarky reply: "The United States of America," a spokesman retorted.
