Matt Gaetz talks about blowing up the metal detectors in the House with Tannerite or C4

https://twitter.com/patriottakes/status/1454884233453834245

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tannerite

Tannerite is a brand of binary explosive targets used for firearms practice and sold in kit form.[1][2] The targets comprise a combination of oxidizers and a fuel, primarily aluminium powder, that is supplied as two separate components that are mixed by the user. The combination is relatively stable when subjected to forces less severe than a high-velocity bullet impact. A hammer blow, the product being dropped, or impact from a low-velocity bullet or shotgun blast will not initiate a reaction. It is also designed to be non-flammable[3] (the reaction cannot be triggered by a burning fuse or electricity), although its explosion can ignite flammable material.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-4_(explosive)

C-4 or Composition C-4 is a common variety of the plastic explosive family known as Composition C, which uses RDX as its explosive agent. C-4 is composed of explosives, plastic binder, plasticizer to make it malleable, and usually a marker or odorizing taggant chemical. C-4 has a texture similar to modelling clay and can be molded into any desired shape. C-4 is metastable and can be exploded only by the shock wave from a detonator or blasting cap.

I don't know, this sounds rather illegal to me and not a light-hearted joke in support of your buddy Boebert.

Ok, FBI and Capitol Police need to have a chat with BOTH Boebert and Gaetz.

Fun factoid: Germany 1933 to 1945 actually relaxed vaccine requirements....

https://www.jacobinmag.com/2021/09/vaccine-mandates-covid-pandemic-german-nazi-inoculation-policy

*snip*

There’s only one problem: the Nazis didn’t actually issue a vaccine mandate. In fact, Republicans would have found much to like in the Third Reich’s vaccine policy, which was very much in line with their current recommendations: above all, it relaxed requirements for compulsory vaccination that had been in place in Germany for decades at that point, and went with a voluntary approach instead. We even have records of private discussions of Adolph Hitler and his Nazi colleagues clearly showing that, far from viewing vaccine mandates as key to their genocidal goals, the opposite was the case: they knew that withholding compulsory vaccination and other German public-health innovations would help kill more of the undesirable and “inferior” people who they wanted to rid from the world.

Let’s back up for a minute to understand the history of Germany’s compulsory vaccination. Like the United States and many other countries, the newly founded German Empire was forced to take this step by the ravages of smallpox, which had killed tens of thousands of people in Prussia. In 1874, the imperial government made vaccines compulsory for infants and men entering military service, as well as regular revaccination for children. For the next fifty-some years, the measure was one of the cornerstones of German public health.

By the time Hitler and the Nazis took over the country in 1933, disgruntlement with compulsory vaccines had been building for a while, some of the anti-vaccine sentiment mixing with the antisemitic conspiracy theories that were rife in that era. This opposition was especially inflamed by a 1930 incident in which more than seventy children died thanks to an improperly administered tuberculosis vaccine, in what came to be known as the Lübeck disaster. As a result, in the waning years of German democracy, the Weimar government suspended compulsory vaccination in practice, even if it was still officially the law of the land.

*snip*

Forced vaccination against the will of kids and parents alike, which had caused outrage throughout the Weimar years, stopped happening from the 1930s on. By 1936, Germans no longer had to prove they’d gotten a smallpox vaccine to attend secondary school, and, by 1940, the policy of “elasticity” was made legally binding, and continued to be used by German governments even after the war. The Nazis instead relied on mass propaganda and the education system to convince people to choose to get vaccinated.

Something to think about the next time you hear the anti-vax idiots compare vaccine mandates with Nazi Germany.

(Jewish Group) Anti-vaxxers have stolen an anti-Nazi group's identity (White Rose Society)

https://forward.com/news/474596/anti-vaxxers-have-stolen-an-anti-nazi-groups-identity/

Around the world, black-and-white stickers have been popping up on lampposts and bus stops. “The Nazis had a phrase that covered all abuses of the state: It’s for your safety,” one says in blocky black letters. “People in 1940s Germany didn’t realize they’d been brainwashed by the media and government either,” screams another in all-caps. Other stickers imply that masks are un-masculine; they refer to vaccines as a government experiment or say that belief in COVID is a cult.

The stickers are the work of an anti-vaxx group calling themselves the White Rose, named after the World War II-era anti-fascist group led by Hans and Sophie Scholl, German students who were both executed by the Gestapo after being caught distributing anti-Nazi leaflets.

Holocaust references have become increasingly common among anti-vaxx agitators, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, who compare themselves to the persecuted Jews who were forced to wear a yellow star. Vaccine mandates and passports, they argue, will bar them from businesses and public spaces, just as the Jews were under the Nazis — a comparison Jewish organizations and leaders have condemned as antisemitic.

The new White Rose group styles itself as anti-fascist and characterizes lockdown orders and vaccine mandates as a form of repression akin to that perpetrated by the Nazis. One of their core assertions is that governments and others administering the vaccine are violating the Nuremberg Code by experimenting on unconsenting citizens, a claim numerous outlets have fact-checked and declared false.

Absolutely horrible to compare vaccines to the REAL villainy of the Nazis.

History of Jack-o-lanterns: the Irish myth of Stingy Jack

https://www.boston.com/news/history/2014/10/29/the-history-of-the-jack-o-lantern-how-it-all-began-with-a-turnip/

It all started centuries ago, with a character named ‘Stingy Jack.’

Jack was part of an Irish myth — thought to have originated in the 17th century — in which a man named Stingy Jack invites the devil for a drink, according to the History Channel.

Jack did not want to pay for his drink — something we can all relate to — so he coerced the Devil into turning himself into a coin. Irish Central reports that Jack promptly pocketed the coin, but later set the Devil free under one condition: He had to leave Jack and his soul alone.

But Jack wasn’t done with his trickery.

He later conned the devil again, but this time, it didn’t end so well: Jack was banished from both heaven and hell. Jack was condemned to a neverending night. His only source of light? A piece of burning coal sitting inside a carved turnip.

*snip*

Much like the Headless Horseman, Jack was said to haunt the night forevermore. He became known as “Jack of the Lantern,’’ which was later shortened to “jack-o-lantern.’’

Irish and Scottish children delighted in carving their own scary faces in turnips, potatoes, and beets. They sat the ghastly faces by their homes, to scare Jack’s spirit away.

Fascinating, I had no idea.
