Was going to save this for the show but it clearly cant wait DontAttackSyria.com go there

Sign the petition. http://dontattacksyria.com Alan Grayson talks about it on my show that airs tomorrow.

This is the site Alan Grayson had created to collect signatures against attacking Syria. I was going to wait until the show aired, but I dont think this can wait.

Please keep this kicked.

Thank you

On Edit: Please also go to twitter and voice your feelings with the hashtag #DontAttackSyria

Just finished my pre-recorded interview with Congressman Alan Grayson re: Syria

Before the actual show part of the interview, we talked about DU, he had some really nice things to say about DU and DUers.

The show will air Sunday night at 7pm Eastern time at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/lesersense/2013/09/01/syria-with-alan-grayson (It will be available in perpetual archive at that link starting at 8pm) and then will reair on Monday on KCAA 1050am in Inland Empire California at 2pm Pacific Time.

I may have given him a new nickname! You will need to hear the show to find out!

I do not support the idea of a US Strike on Syria

I do not support the idea of a US Strike on Syria. I believe the UN should be allowed to complete its investigation and then the Security Council should determine what action is taken if any. And then if the Security Council decides on force, an international coalition that does not include the US should be used.

We in the US have spent enough money and lost enough people, had enough people suffer disabling injuries in wars in the last several years. It's time for other countries to step up to the plate to enforce international law. We're not the only ones capable of doing so, and lately it only cultivates ill will against us. We should sit out the next 25 or so attempts to use force to enforce international law.

This is going to sound funny, but can we have polls that use instant runoff voting?

I'm a big proponent of it and think that it is the best way to determine a people's intent. So I think it would be a great statement if it was implemented on DU. What do you think? It might be really interesting as we head into primary time to gauge what people's first, second and third choices are.

Regarding Breaking Bad and Jesse and the Cigs, I don't buy it. (Spoiler alert)

Do not read if you havent seen the latest episode yet.

OK, regarding Breaking Bad, I have to say it. I think the way Jesse was suggested to have realized Walt poisoned Brock was too convoluted to be believable. Believe me, I get it, I understand that this is supposed to show that Walt could have had Jesse's cigs switched out even though ricin wasnt used to poison the child, etc. It's too much to assume that someone with Jesse's intelligence, in the state Jesse was in about to be picked up and have a new identity, etc, would connect. In an otherwise well written show, I think this stands out as not well thought out. Jesse has not been presented to us as a deductive genius, quite the opposite.

A heads up for my friends in this group. I talk about Chelsea Manning's sentence in my show tonight

and tomorrow.

I use the opportunity to make it very clear to my listeners I am referring to Pvt Manning as Chelsea Manning and she/her. I've never posted a pre-airing transcript before but here is the relevant portion of that piece:

Welcome back. Private First Class Manning was sentenced on Tuesday to 35 years in prison for illegally leaking classified data.
If you have listened to me talk about the Manning and the Snowden leaks, you know that I am not a fan of the choices these folks made. There is a federal whistleblowing program that allows people to raise issues they feel amount to wrongdoing, get those issues investigated, get themselves immunity from reprisal, and minimize the damage to the United States. I strongly believe that both of these folks should have utilized the federal whistleblower program.

At the same time, when I look at the sentence handed down to Manning, I think it’s probably too harsh. I’ll get to that in a moment. You might have noticed that I have only used Manning’s last name and rank so far in this segment. The reason for that is that late this past week it was explained that Manning now identifies as a woman, Chelsea Manning, and that is how she wishes to be referred. That is how I will be referring to Manning for the rest of this piece, she is a woman whose name is now Chelsea Manning.

Chelsea Manning experienced abuse her entire life. Both of her parents were alcoholics, Mannings mother drank heavily while she was pregnant with Manning and a Navy psychiatrist has said that Manning’s facial features shows signs of fetal alcohol syndrome. Manning was often left alone at home for days and weeks at a time as a fairly young age...

xpost from Feminists - Slane Girl: Yes, Misogyny, dual standards and Slut Shaming are alive and well

http://jezebel.com/girl-gives-boy-blow-job-at-music-festival-boy-is-hero-1170516814

It's a tale as old as time, a young woman was photographed giving head to a dude and the photo started making the rounds on all the usual Internet suspects. Of course, she was labeled “dirty”, “slut”, and “rank” — and the dude? Oh, he's just a dude.

It all went down at an 80,000 person Eminem concert at Slane Castle in Ireland. The crowd got a little out of control, and the local police arrested over 50 attendees. Fine, whatever, but then on Saturday photos from the festivities emerged showing a high school girl performing oral sex on two different men in the crowd.

The Daily Dot reports:

In one photo, the girl locks lips with a man in a neon-green hat and matching pants. In another, more explicit shot, the same man is almost totally nude. He raises his hands victoriously in the air. He has not been harassed or bullied or had his identity broadcast to the Web.
