ificandream's JournalObama urges Georgia Democrats to push turnout for Warnock

Update:
ATLANTA (AP) -- Former President Barack Obama and Sen. Raphael Warnock on Thursday urged Democratic voters to keep pushing an apparent head start in early voting in the Georgia Senate runoff against Republican Herschel Walker, ahead of Friday's last day of early in-person voting and Tuesday's election day.
"If they didn't get tired, you can't get tired," Obama told a crowd gathered in a cavernous former railroad repair shop east of downtown Atlanta.
Voters have already cast more than 1.4 million ballots amid an all-hands-on-deck push by Democrats to bank as many votes as possible while Republicans, especially Walker, have taken a less aggressive approach that could leave the GOP nominee heavily dependent on runoff Election Day turnout.
"We've got to keep on showing up," Warnock told the crowd at his largest event of the four-week runoff blitz. "We've got to keep on voting. We cannot let up for even a moment. We've got to keep our foot on the gas all the way to victory."

ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia voters have cast more than 1 million ballots ahead of the Dec. 6 U.S. Senate runoff between Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker, with Warnock looking to juice an apparent Democratic head start in early voting with a visit Thursday from Barack Obama.
The former president will campaign with Warnock on the eve of the final day of early voting. The rally, which promises to be the largest event of Warnock's four-week runoff blitz, underscores the two parties' different approaches to early voting in the final contest of the 2022 election.
Democrats have employed an all-hands-on-deck push to bank as many votes as possible while Republicans, especially Walker, have taken a less aggressive approach that could leave the GOP nominee heavily dependent on runoff Election Day turnout.
"I think the turnout we're seeing is good, and I want to encourage people to stick with it," Warnock said as he campaigned this week, comparing voting to waiting in line at a popular Atlanta lunch spot. "The other day I went to the Slutty Vegan, and the line was wrapped around the block, and folks still waited and got their sandwiches," he said. "I went and voted yesterday, and it was pretty painless."

You go, Mr. President.

Keith's podcast about Trump being the new Hitler
A couple of days ago, Keith published one of his more forceful podcasts yet discussing the Nick Fuentes scandal and giving his reasons why Trump is the new Hitler. There are some who won't believe it, but it really comes across as more like a wakeup call. Keith goes through Trump's history, including having a Hitler book at his bedside. It really is scary how much of a hate-mongering racist Trump is.

Biden tells GOP his hopes, gets stiff response from McCarthy
Source: Associated Press/By ZEKE MILLER and COLLEEN LONG
WASHINGTON (AP) President Joe Biden said Tuesday he hopes both parties lawmakers can work together to keep the government open, boost spending for Ukraine and avert a crippling rail strike. But the Republicans pick to be the next House speaker shrugged off the sunny talk, serving notice that things are going to be different once the GOP takes control of the chamber.
Bidens meeting with congressional leaders at the White House came as he looks to lock in more legislative wins before Democrats lose unified control of Washington on Jan. 3. In the meantime, the president is dependent on Congress to avoid a government shutdown on Dec. 16, and he wants major new funding to fight COVID-19 response and bolster U.S. support for Ukraines economy and defense against Russias invasion.
Most urgently, Biden has called on Congress to step in and impose a tentative agreement between railroads and workers to avert a potentially crippling freight rail strike next week.
Congress is months behind on passing funding legislation for the current fiscal year, relying on stopgap measures largely maintaining existing funding levels that federal agencies have warned leave them strapped for cash and dont address new priorities.
