It would be hard to think of a more damaging day for a President than one on which his former campaign chairman disappeared behind bars for years to come. But Paul Manafort's new sentence was the least of Donald Trump's worries Wednesday as his Russia investigation nightmare took yet another turn for the worse.
New suspicions about dangled pardons, conflicting congressional testimony, implicit pleas for clemency and fresh suggestions of inappropriate presidential behavior delivered a new twist to the drama with Washington already on edge in anticipation of special counsel Robert Mueller's final report.
CNN reported explosive new revelations involving Cohen's allegation that a pardon had been dangled in exchange for him staying loyal to the President, in which he was purportedly told he could be sure he had "friends in high places."
Both new angles on the Russia intrigue came on the day that a judge added to the prison sentence of Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, after he was snared in Mueller's investigation. He faces a total of 7.5 years in prison.
For the second time in a week, a Manafort attorney emerged from a sentencing hearing and appeared to twist a judge's words in a way that raised suspicions he was bolstering Trump's claims that there was "no collusion" in return for a pardon for his client.

About "socialism"?... Is there evidence of it here in the U.S.A.?
Any evidence of socialistic ideas? That the government takes care of people? (a socialistic idea?) And that the government provides services?
All cities have ...running water..Who provides the running water?
All cities have sewage systems..Who provides the sewage systems? (some rural areas do not, and home owners provide sewage systems.)
All cities have police departments?.....same as above...will they be there in an emergency?
All cities have fire departments?........same as above...will they be there in an emergency?
Yes, cities have emergency rooms for health care... No, the cities do not provide that..hospitals do.
.............................................in an emergency Do you get care? Available to all?
Most cities have parks and playgrounds...Who provides them? Are they open to everyone?
Is there something about libraries?....can anyone go in and read a book?
How about public schools..Only for the rich, or for everyone in that town, What about that one?
...You mean education up to grade 12 for everyone?
Some communities have Junior or Community Colleges. Are they open to everyone?
OH MY!..........
...... If "socialism" is toxic...it looks like we all have been .... poisoned..!!

Trump, Boeing ties scrutinized as FAA stands nearly alone in support of Max 8
https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/boeing-737-max-8-ethiopia-airlines-crash/index.htmlA global grounding of Boeing's 737 Max 8 airliner is drawing new attention to the close ties between the manufacturer and the Trump administration, which so far is refusing calls to join every other country in suspending use of the plane in the United States.
President Donald Trump has touted Boeing sales across the globe -- including two weeks ago in Vietnam -- and has cultivated close relationships with the company's executives. His acting defense secretary served atop the company for more than three decades, including as the newly scrutinized planes were being developed. The company has spent millions over the past years lobbying decision-makers in Washington.

...I sure hope that this does not result in another crash in our country.
Now Canada Grounds 737 Max 8

The Republican Party stands for: Hate, Hate, and More Hate
...The Republican leaders did everything that they could do to destroy Obama's plans for this country. McConnell is quoted as saying he would do anything and everything to stop Obama's legislative program. He proved that to everyone in this country by stalling the Garland appointment until Trump was elected. That is proof of what McConnell and the Republicans are about. The personification of this "Hate" is Donald Trump. The Republican Party has done nothing to stop Donald Trump.
.. In order to overcome this "Hate", we must win the 2020 Presidential Election to save our country. Twenty months from now, we have a chance to change this. We must work together with foresight and purpose. We must save this country for ourselves and for our children and our children's children.
.. Thanks for reading this..
I would like to know who gave the order to separate children from their parents?
Who decided that? How did that decision come about? How can that happen? What is the origination and time line of that decision? If anyone knows here at DU, I would like to know too. It seems to me to be not only wrong, but against the laws of this country. Thank You.
Trump is still acting like Trump.
...Bragging and shouting out, "I am the greatest ever." No modesty, no honesty, no truth. But it doesn't matter, because he will go down. He and some of his family act like they don't know what is going on. One of the finest and most experienced investigators in the country is investigating Trump and his finances and his actions. Some of Trump's gang is already charged, indicted and convicted.
... It hasn't got to his family yet, but I think it will. If Trump has broken the laws of the United States or those of New York State, the investigators will get him and some of the members of his family. When? This is a slow and deliberate process, but I think this will happen in the next few months. Donald Trump's mouth is much bigger than his brain. He is still acting like he doesn't have a clue. We will all find out if this is true. He has no patience, and he can't shut up. And those are characteristics that Mueller and his team have.
Ethiopian Airlines crash is second disaster involving Boeing 737 MAX 8 in months: CNN
https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/10/africa/ethiopian-airlines-crash-boeing-max-8-intl/index.htmlCNN) For the second time in less than six months, a brand-new Boeing aircraft has crashed just minutes into a flight.
All 157 people on board the Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa that crashed on Sunday morning have died, the airline has confirmed.
The tragedy follows the Lion Air flight that went down over the Java Sea in late October, killing all 189 people on board.
There is no suggestion yet as to what caused the latest disaster, and no evidence that the two incidents are linked in causality.
What is known, however, is that both flights took place on the Boeing 737 MAX 8 -- a new model recently unveiled to great fanfare by the US aviation giant, that saw its first flight less than two years ago.
"It's highly suspicious," said Mary Schiavo, a CNN aviation analyst and the former Inspector General of the U.S. Transportation Department. "Here we have a brand-new aircraft that's gone down twice in a year. That rings alarm bells in the aviation industry, because that just doesn't happen."
Adding to concerns are some similarities between the two flights. Both were operated by well-known airlines with strong safety records -- but the Lion Air flight went down 13 minutes after take off, while Sunday's Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed just six minutes into its journey
"The similarities with Lion Air are too great not to be concerned," Schiavo said.

Never Underestimate Republicans. They Will Do Anything to Win...ANYTHING
They will steal, cheat, kill, demonize, hurt, lie, and whatever you can think of. Look at Trump and how he acts. There are no rules for them. The rules are for us. They want to win at all costs. We think we have seen it all, and there is more. As said by others, most Republicans will support Trump no matter what. Most would destroy whatever they can to win. Did McConnell bring Garland (Obama's appointment) up for a vote? What else would McConnell do to win? What would Trump do? We must win the next election for President of the United States. Trump must loose if he runs again, and that goes for any other Republican. The United States of America needs us more than it has ever needed a change in party leadership. It needs all of us to do the best we can to elect a different president from our political party.
