A very old joke, but maybe some fun..

> A noted sex therapist realized that people often lie about the
> frequency of their encounters, so he devised a test to tell for
> certain how often someone had sex. To prove his theory, he filled up
> an auditorium with people, and went down the line asking each person
> to smile. Using the size of the person's smile, the therapist was
> able to guess accurately how often each person had sex. The last man
> in line was grinning from ear to ear.Twice a day," the therapist
> guessed, but was surprised when the man said no. "Once a day, then?"
> Again the answer was no. "Twice a week?" "No." "Twice a month?" "No."
> When the doctor asked, "Once a year?" the man finally said yesThe
> therapist was angry that his theory hadn't worked with this
> individual, and he asked the man, "What the heck are you so happy
> about?" The man answered, "Tonight's the night!"

Worst Smog event. ever,London December 1952, killed at least 4000, sickened 100,000, it changed life

Great Smog...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Smog

The Great Smog of '52 or Big Smoke was a severe air pollution event that affected London during December 1952. A period of cold weather, combined with an anticyclone and windless conditions, collected airborne pollutants mostly from the use of coal to form a thick layer of smog over the city. It lasted from Friday 5 to Tuesday 9 December 1952, and then dispersed quickly after a change of weather.

Although it caused major disruption due to the effect on visibility, and even penetrated indoor areas, it was not thought to be a significant event at the time, with London having experienced many smog events in the past, so called "pea soupers". However, government medical reports in the following weeks estimated that up until 20th December 4,000 people had died prematurely and 100,000 more were made ill because of the smog's effects on the human respiratory tract. More recent research suggests that the total number of fatalities was considerably greater at about 12,000.

You know..it would take an event like the one above to really get everyone thinking about "pollution" and the "enviornment"..Here is what happened in Illinois a few years after this event. So I am living in a two flat apartment with my family...Dad and my uncle upsairs announce they got to change the furnace..All furnances in Chicago had to change to "oil" or "gas" burners by a certain date..all..Now Illinois used to be the largest soft coal producer in America...I was never told why...but sometime in the 80s, I read about the above event...and that is why...yes, every apartment had to be converted..cause of the above event..60 years ago...maybe a movie about it..to wake people up...but I am afraid only if a couple of thousand or more die...like in China....maybe then we will have another moment.....
Yes, I posted this before..needs to be posted again..even the Chinese would act, if 10,000 die cause of this.............

A Chart to Make Fillibuster Reformers Optimistic: Daily Kos

ProSence .originally put this up in General Discussion Forum here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022272535
title there was... "Chart, the eight Democrats who opposed the talking fillibuster"
.........The story is kind of a good read, has a positive slant, so here it is in Good Reads..............................................

Sun Jan 27, 2013 at 11:40 AM PST.

This chart will make filibuster reformers feel optimistic:

by Chris Bowers .......from the article...after the chart...

"The eight opponents—Sens. Leahy, Baucus, Levin, Reid, Feinstein, Boxer, Pryor and Manchin—form a pretty odd grouping in when it comes to factors like ideology or geography. However, their seniority paints a clear picture of what happened to the talking filibuster: The 11 members of the Democratic Senate caucus with more than 20 years of seniority opposed the talking filibuster by a 6-5 margin.
The 44 members of the Democratic Senate caucus with less than 20 years of seniority favored the talking filibuster by a 42-2 margin.

Even if we didn't win last week, with 75 percent of the opposition to the silent filibuster coming from a small group of senators who have served for 20 years or more, the era of the silent filibuster is coming to an end.

This is another reason why I am significantly more optimistic about the outcome of this round of the filibuster reform fight than most of the more than one million activists who took part. Not only did we not come away empty handed, and not only have we come incredibly far in a few short years, but there is simply no way we lose in the long run."

I love this video..

Where the hell is Matt? 2012
Maybe for a moment, you get to see many different kinds of people in the world dancing.
Maybe it is the song itself.."trip the light..we're going to break the night.."
And we will see with new eyes, when we trip the night..."
Maybe it is looking at many of the scenes, the little kids up front..dancing around, not exactly to the tune..having fun.
Maybe it is the hope and smiles in so many eyes.
Maybe it is just fun for me..enjoy..

"And in the morning light I'll remember
as the sun will rise....
We are all a glowing embers
of a distant fire..........

Fuck Harry Reid.

On January 15th, I put up one against Lance Armstrong for lying thru his ass about doping and using drugs to enhance his performance.
He fooled a lot of people. Yes, I said Fuck Lance Armstrong..
Now, I may get in trouble for telling how I feel about Harry, but a lot of major legislation will never even get considered , because Harry lied about some major changes to the Senate rules on fillibuster. No major changes were made. A few minor ones, but nothing to stop the assholes from preventing votes be taken on ideas like gun control, or single payer. None..nadda.nothing.
.one asshole Senator, just one, can stop single payer from ever being considered this term So many ideas didn't get voted on last term because of the fillibuster.
That is why I use this language. Sure he is a Democrat and has done some good things. but this sucks big time, and because changes will not be made, people will die.....sorry about that, it is how I see it..Fuck Reid. He promised and did not keep his word.. He lied like Armstrong, yet I believed him. Also, If Harry had said.."well, we don't have the votes to change..we don't have 51 votes, that is one thing." If he said that, well we would know he couldn't deliver. Why didn't he tell us the truth? If he found out in December, let us know the truth. Instead as Rachel says..."another handshake with Mc Connell" You know, Mc Connell?.. the guy who said he would do everything to make Obama a one term President...you know him???
We believed he would deliver, I did, many did. How hard did he try???don't know..maybe we will find out...someday..

See post in Video and Multimedia on how Rachel proves this.

Anyone who thinks Harry is any better at telling the truth, than some of his/our adversaries..should watch the 7 minutes..Well worth it.

A short, old ,...joke poem...

Sometimes ...
when you cry ...
no one sees your tears......

Sometimes...
when you are in pain...
no one sees your hurt...

Sometimes...
when you are worried....
no one sees your stress......

Sometimes ...
when you are happy ...
no one sees your smile ......

But fart just one time...
