A journalist covering the recount in Arizona got kicked out for taking a picture of Rep. Biggs:

Today is my shift at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the Maricopa County election audit. Media was supposed to get in at 8 a.m. but wasn’t allowed in until after 9.

In the middle of the room are five laptops and five printers. But they don’t seem to be printing anything at the moment #azauditpool

There were 3 boxes in the fenced area labeled “complete” when I got here but two men just moved them out of view, so unclear how many they have finished.

Two men did some more shuffling with the boxes in the fenced area marked “complete” and this is the best view I can get of them. I can count 5 but could be more against the wall out of view.

Looks like we have former AZ lawmaker Anthony Kern reviewing ballots #azauditpool

Kern took a moment to shake hands with Rep. Andy Biggs, who got a tour of the facility from Ken Bennett.

Well, a man in a cowboy hat and a badge that said Wake TSI just came over, asked if I tweeted the picture of Anthony Kern, and when I said yes he escorted me out of the building and said my press privileges were “revoked”

They said I am welcome to stay in the parking lot where it’s 97 degrees and this is my view

I’m seeing questions about Kern’s pen. It appears to be green and the cap was not stuck on the back end in my previous photo. This shot from the pool photographer @thawthornephoto
is clearer

Senate President @FannKfann, who is in charge of the audit, is saying I broke a judge’s order. This is false. We have no judge’s order. We have an agreement not to show any discernible info on ballots. And our agreement states specifically we can/will show faces. #azauditpool

Manchin says he doesn't support D.C. statehood bill

Source: WaPo

Sen. Joe Manchin III told reporters in his home state of West Virginia on Friday morning that he does not support the bill to make D.C. the nation’s 51st state, according to audio provided by the Democrat’s office and a report from WVNews.

Manchin, a key swing vote in the closely divided Senate, said he believed a constitutional amendment, rather than legislation, would be required to admit D.C. as a state. His stance deals a major blow to statehood advocates who were hoping for his support after the bill passed the House last week.

Manchin cited findings from the Justice Department under Presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and comments from then-Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy in reaching his decision.

“They all came to the same conclusion: If Congress wants to make D.C. a state, it should propose a constitutional amendment. It should propose a constitutional amendment and let the people of America vote,” Manchin said in a radio interview with Hoppy Kercheval of West Virginia’s MetroNews, the full audio of which was provided to The Washington Post by Manchin’s staff.

FBI warned Giuliani, key Trump ally in Senate of Russian disinformation campaign targeting Biden

Source: WaPo

The FBI warned Rudolph W. Giuliani in late 2019 that he was the target of a Russian influence operation aimed at circulating falsehoods intended to damage President Biden politically ahead of last year’s election, according to people familiar with the matter.

The warning was part of an extensive effort by the bureau to alert members of Congress and at least one conservative media outlet, One America News, that they faced a risk of being used to further Russia’s attempt to influence the election’s outcome, said several current and former U.S. officials. All spoke on the condition of anonymity because the matter remains highly sensitive.

Giuliani received the FBI’s warning while deeply involved with former president Donald Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign and related activities in Ukraine to surface unflattering or incriminating information about the Biden family. The revelation comes as the FBI this week seized Giuliani’s cellphone and other electronic devices as part of a long-running criminal investigation into whether the onetime New York

The warning, made by counterintelligence agents, was separate from the Justice Department’s ongoing criminal probe, but it reflects a broader concern by U.S. intelligence and federal investigators that Giuliani — among other influential Americans and U.S. institutions — was being manipulated by the Russian government to promote its interests and that he appears to have brazenly disregarded such fears.

Bombshell Letter: Gaetz Paid for Sex With Minor, Wingman Says

Source: The Daily Beast

The Daily Beast has obtained a confession letter that Joel Greenberg wrote after asking Roger Stone to help him obtain a pardon.

A confession letter written by Joel Greenberg in the final months of the Trump presidency claims that he and close associate Rep. Matt Gaetz paid for sex with multiple women--as well as a girl who was 17 at the time.

"On more than one occasion, this individual was involved in sexual activities with several of the other girls, the congressman from Florida's 1st Congressional District and myself," Greenberg wrote in reference to the 17-year-old. "From time to time, gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments were made to several of these girls, including the individual who was not yet 18. I did see the acts occur firsthand and Venmo transactions, Cash App or other payments were made to these girls on behalf of the Congressman."

The letter, which The Daily Beast recently obtained, was written after Greenberg asked Roger Stone to help him secure a pardon from then-President Donald Trump.

In late 2020, Greenberg was out of jail and in communication with Stone. A series of private messages between the two--also recently obtained by The Daily Beast--shows a number of exchanges between Greenberg and Stone conducted over the encrypted messaging app Signal, with communications set to disappear. However, Greenberg appears to have taken screenshots of a number of their conversations.
