I'm having a bad day. I finally got out of bed, read the news, looked at the pictures and

did some chores around the house but it's still not a good day. I'm fortunate that my
cable MOVIES channel is binge-showing Shirley Temple movies today so I'm
binge-watching. Now at 1:50 pm Mountain Daylight Saving time Heidi is just starting.
Feel free to join me.

[A lot of people enjoyed the photos of birds coming back to the province in last week's album, and more sightings of birds and other animals enjoying the warmer weather abound this week.]

These photos of Newfoundland and Labrador show the diversity of the critters and
geography of Canada.

Al Jazeera: 'No Pakistani prime minister has completed a full term in office.

Pakistan has had 29 prime ministers since 1947 – none completed a full five-year term.'

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/4/9/factbox-no-pakistani-prime-minister-has-completed-a-full-tenure

[No prime minister has completed a full five-year tenure in Pakistan’s 75-year history – a trend extended with the removal of Imran Khan, who lost a no-confidence vote on Sunday.

Pakistan, a parliamentary democracy for most of its history, has had a total of 29 prime ministers since 1947 – one of whom took on the role twice in one year.

On 18 occasions, prime ministers have been removed under a variety of circumstances, including corruption charges, direct military coups and forced resignations due to infighting in governing groups. There was one assassination in office.

(Assassination in office)
Liaquat Ali Khan: Pakistan’s first prime minister. Took office in August 1947. He was assassinated at a political rally on October 16, 1951. Tenure: Four years and two months.]

Note 1: Zulfikar Ali Bhutto: He was removed from office in a military coup and later executed.

Note 2: Benazir Bhutto served two terms as Prime Minister. She was the first woman
leader of a Muslim nation and was assassinated while campaigning for election. She
was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

(Life and) Assassination of Benazir Bhutto

My own interest in all things Pakistan comes from my having lived in Pakistan from
1951 at age 2 until 1954 when I was 5. The recent removal of Imran Khan as Prime
Minister caught my attention.

Fixed it!

Yellowstone Supervolcano is airing right now* on my cable Smithsonian Channel HD.

*2PM Mountain Daylight Savings Time in the U.S.

More volcano programming follows this.

As a rule I avoid fright and horror programs but this kind of thing terrifies me. I've
studied the historical eruptions like Krakatoa, Santorini, Yellowstone and others. I
paid attention when Mt. St. Helens blew and keep up with activity here in the present
day. And there's not anything any of us can do to control it.

Guardian: 'Woman who drew up Schindler's lists during Holocaust dies at 107.

Mimi Reinhardt was in charge of compiling names of Jews to work in German industrialist’s factory.'

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/apr/08/mimi-reinhardt-woman-who-drew-up-schindlers-lists-during-holocaust-dies-at-107

[The woman who drew up lists of people for the German industrialist Oskar Schindler that helped save hundreds of Jews during the Holocaust has died aged 107.

Mimi Reinhardt, who was employed as Schindler’s secretary, was in charge of drawing up the lists of Jewish workers from the ghetto of the Polish city of Kraków who were recruited to work at his factory, saving them from deportation to Nazi death camps.

“My grandmother, so dear and so unique, passed away at the age of 107. Rest in peace,” Reinhardt’s granddaughter Nina wrote in a message to relatives.

Austrian-born Reinhardt, who was also Jewish, was recruited by Schindler himself and worked for him until 1945.]

Rest in peace, Mimi. Your life, that of Oskar and many others are inspiring examples
of the difference one person can make in the events of this world.

TELEPHONE SCAM/FRAUD ALERT: Yesterday I got a call from a number I didn't

recognize with an area code of 213. I let it go to message and got a long message
from some guy who said he was selling some kind of tax protection who asked me to
call him back at his "personal desk" at a number with an 883 area code. So I did a reverse
phone lookup on each number then I blocked both numbers.

I went to my local police department website to see about reporting this. I could've done it
but they've made the reporting process very complicated so I skipped that and was happy
that I have enough good sense to do what I did.

Here's a link for a very useful and free reverse-phone look-up site:

"Tintarella di luna" ("Moon Tan" in English) is a song I heard on the soundtrack of the

movie Finding Your Feet. What I heard pleased me so much I had to track it down
and after that I just had to share what I found. The original recording I heard was
made in 1959 by Mina.

Italian lyrics:

Abbronzate, tutte chiazze,
pellirosse un po' paonazze
son le ragazze che prendono il sol
ma ce n'è una
che prende la luna.

Tintarella di luna,
tintarella color latte,
tutta notte sopra il tetto,
sopra al tetto come i gatti
e se c'è la luna piena,
tu diventi candida.

Tintarella di luna,
tintarella color latte
che fa bianca la tua pelle
ti fa bella tra le belle
e se c'è la luna piena,
tu diventi candida.

Tin-tin-tin, raggi di luna,
tin tin tin, baciano te,
al mondo nessuna
è candida come te!

Tintarella di luna,
tintarella color latte,
tutta notte sopra il tetto
sopra al tetto come i gatti
e se c'è la luna piena,
tu diventi candida.

Tin-tin-tin, raggi di luna,
tin-tin-tin, baciano te;
al mondo nessuna
è candida come te!

Tintarella di luna,
tintarella color latte,
tutta notte sopra il tetto,
sopra al tetto come i gatti
e se c'è la luna piena,
tu diventi candida.

E se c'è la luna piena,
tu diventi candida.
E se c'è la luna piena,
tu diventi candida, candida, candida!

English lyrics:

Suntanned, all in blotches
Redskins with a purple tinge
Are girls who bake in the sun
But there is not a single one
Who uses moonlight to tan

That's the tan of the moon
It's the color of milk
All night long on the roof
On the roof like stray cats
Under full moon's glow
You become white as snow

That's the tan of the moon
It's the color of milk
Makes your skin pure white
You are a beautiful sight
Under full moon's glow
You become white as snow

Tin-tin-tin, rays of the moon
Tin tin tin, are kissing you
No one else has a clue
How to be as pale as you

That's the tan of the moon
It's the color of milk
All night long on the roof
On the roof like the cats
Under full moon's glow
You become white as snow

(The last three stanzas are repetitions)

https://lyricstranslate.com/en/tintarella-di-luna-moon-tan.html-0

The video I've chosen here is in color and the sound quality is better than what was
used in the movie but the arrangement and Mina are the same.
