A few hours ago, a coalition which started in Charlottesville announced “The March to Confront White Supremacy,” a ten-day march which starts on Monday, August 28th in Charlottesville, VA, passes by Confederate sites along the route, and culminates in an occupation in Washington, DC on Wednesday, September 6th. The march is broken up into an average of roughly 12 miles per day, but participants may choose however many days they wish. This sounds like the potential beginnings of another Occupy Movement, as the DC occupation will continue for an indeterminate amount of time:
Starting on September 6th, we’re taking over Washington DC. We will hold our ground and launch wave after wave of nonviolent civil disobedience demanding Trump be removed from office and that an agenda be advanced that heals the wounds of white supremacy. This will be a sustained civil disobedience campaign, so bring what you need to stay.
A spokesperson for the coalition tells Jezebel that the march began with students and churches in Charlottesville and quickly picked up coordinating groups including the Women’s March, Working Families, the Action Group Network, United We Dream, Color of Change, and others.
While Melini Stamp of the Working Families Party, an endorsing organization, declined to comment on an occupation-type event, she did say that this will likely have a “very different look and feel” than the Occupy Movement did.
“One of our organizing principals is having the most impacted communities front and center, and in this case those are communities most impacted by white supremacy,” which means, for example, people of color and the Jewish community. “Especially since we have a lot of a clergy, the spirituality of different faiths will hold a different center, I think,” she added.

A small group of neo-Nazis gathered outside an Arlington, Va., shopping center Friday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of an American Nazi leader’s assassination.
As one man held a large red flag emblazoned with a swastika, half a dozen others raised their right arms in a Nazi salute. Their ceremony came two weeks after neo-Nazis and white supremacists rallied in Charlottesville, where clashes with counterprotesters left one woman dead and many others injured.
The neo-Nazis who appeared in Arlington are members of New Order, a successor to the American Nazi Party, whose founder, George Lincoln Rockwell, was shot to death at the Dominion Hills shopping center on Aug. 25, 1967.
Martin Kerr, New Order’s chief of staff, said most of those who attended the commemoration live in the Washington area, although one came from Wisconsin to pay tribute to Rockwell.
“We laid a wreath, I said a few words and then we gave a nationalist socialist salute for 88 seconds,” Kerr said, explaining that the 88 seconds symbolized “Heil Hitler.”

North Carolina County Official Indicted For Rigging The 2016 Election For Donald Trump
A former elections worker in North Carolina was indicted by a grand jury on Monday for purposefully changing ballot results during the March 2016 primary election.
Richard Robert Rawling, 59, of Cary, was charged with felony counts of failing his duties and obstruction of justice after allegedly skewing the vote tallies to help elect President Trump and other conservative candidates.
Rawling allegedly ordered subordinates to run provisional ballots through tabulators more than the correct number of times, and then made manual changes so that the results of the provisional canvass would match the tally of total ballots.
Elections board officials found the smoking gun during an audit of primary results in April.
According to the State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement, Rawling’s actions were a desperate attempt to hide his tampering with results. Rawling resigned less than a month after the primary results were tallied.

San Francisco: Be careful if you're going to Civic Center tomorow.
The so-called Patriots cancelled their rally at Crissy Field and will instead hold a "press conference" at Alamo Square, a convenient nine blocks away from the counter-protest. There will be plenty of police on hand but please be careful, and please help SFPD in any way you by being vigilant for anyone who wants to start trouble.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - It feels like an act of hate. That is what owners of a popular LBGT bar, The Aut Bar in Ann Arbor, have to say about what someone did to their business early Friday morning.
When workers left around 2:45 in the morning, everything was fine. When one of the owners arrived at six to prepare for the day, he found the business had been vandalized.
“All of the streamers were ripped down and the light bulbs were smashed. Fascia board was damaged where they were attached, and the rainbow flag had been torn down,” described Keith Orr, who owns the business with his husband Martin Contreras.
They say the damage doesn’t hurt as much as the message.
“Someone went out of their way to make a statement if you will,” said Contreras.
