Yeah, she was so upset. Comes out just in time to set the mood for 2016.

I also read the whole article with Taibbi's usual colorful language and the standard kicking of Democrats. Not that the bank doesn't need to get a good asskicking, but why wait until the GOP gets majority, knowing they are eviscerating Warren's agency as we speak?

A GOP Senate's First Target - Elizabeth Warren’s Consumer Protection Agency

For years, House Republicans have been trying to gut her greatest accomplishment.

By Erika Eichelberger - Sep. 26, 2014

If the GOP wins the Senate, they'll no doubt use the opportunity to push through a range of measures that are kryptonite to Democratic voters—new abortion restrictions, limits on the ability of the Environmental Protection Agency to combat climate change, a relaxation of the rules reining in Wall Street's worst excesses...

Yet people blame Obama.

The bureau's job is to make sure Americans aren't getting screwed by mortgage lenders, credit card companies, debt collectors, and other financial institutions. It's the first federal agency designed specifically to protect everyday consumers from financial wrongdoing, and Republicans have done everything in their power to hobble the agency—including fighting the confirmation of its director, Richard Cordray. Winning the Senate in November could be their best chance to roll back Warren's greatest accomplishment...

Half of their work is already done. The House has passed a bill that would limit the bureau's power by replacing its director with a five-member panel, and subjecting its budget to the congressional appropriations process—meaning that hostile lawmakers could starve it to death. (Unlike most federal agencies, the bureau is bankrolled by the Federal Reserve, an effort to free it from the whims of partisan politics.) House Republicans have also introduced legislation to let other financial regulators overturn CFPB rules, to eliminate a fund the bureau uses to compensate consumers who've been defrauded by an institution that's gone belly-up, and to restrict the kind of data the bureau may collect from consumers. (Republicans have charged that the CFPB's collection of credit data is a violation of privacy, even though the bureau does not collect any personal details the consumer doesn't volunteer.)

Yet people hate the Federal Reserve, and want to effect a Ron Paul and Libertarian plan to eliminate it. A lot more on what they'll do to destroy Warren's work:

The timing and tone of this release makes it seem suspect. OTOH, she may be coming now out to help save the CPB, if one wants to give it the benefit of the doubt. This story proves why it needs to be there.

'If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools...'

That is what Obama has dealt with from Day One!

If— By Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;

If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings

And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,

If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,

And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

The reporters are shallow, babbling brooks who make shrill noises which will mean nothing in history. Obama is living every word of that poem.

Yeah, but they're all into the French Revolution meme. Their heads will be lost later in the purge.

They also forget that FDR, who they claim to love, made a Democratic majority with groups and policies we'd disdain today, like the Jim Crow loving Dixiecrats.

We still won't go back to what they want, so they'll be GOP until Hell freezes over. Hope to see them finally embrace true American values such as Obama has represented, in my lifetime:

Now you've gone and done it! You know what's coming next because you said Stalin:

I agree, not everyone in the big tent will get along. Just maybe they'll be persuaded to not burn the tent down.

Sounds like my teabagger sister. I only do my duty by sending her Xmas and birthday cards.

The vitriol and demands that I totally agree with the baggers and hate Obama and Democrats, is not how we were brought up. After a while I didn't call because it was always me trying to keep connected to my last full blood kin, and she carried on about my living on the left coast and my liberal ways.

Also went after my kid who is disabled and draws off my SS account as a worker, and his own little job that pays marginally but also pays for his living situation with my benefit, his wages, and Medicaid. Her husband's disability, though, is 'different.'

My dad was in WW2. He died at 51 because despite his being able to pay for health insurance, for a pre-existing condition he could not get coverage. When it came time for a vital surgery, he finally could not afford it. And went home to die.

Yet my bio-sister as I now refer to her, railed against Obamacare, which would have saved our father's life and us so much grief and dislocation and more important to her, a great deal of money.

But since she is not logical and is a firm believer in Beck and Faux news and the Tea Party, I guess it's to be expected now. This from a person who used birth control, has had an abortion, benefited from survivor benefits from my dad's Social Security earnings, public school and infrastructure, her husband getting great care from the VA where they live, his perks as a Vietnam vet with home loan coverage, disability payments from the VA and SS, and the latest was a government program that allowed them their present home.

I wrote of my adventures with her as she fell into media induced psychosis:

I have a bagger relation. Agree enthusiastically or they go nuts. I stopped talking to her because of the yelling.

And I actually said to her that I didn't call long distance to hear the latest thing Beck said, I called to see how she was doing. I've detailed a number of the conversations here at DU. Really wild stuff. Here are my posts about her:

Hope you get a laugh out of it. This is how I feel after only 8 seconds of long distance with my bagger relation. The mindless regurgitation of Rush and Beck spew is acutely painful to hear. It's torture.

Glad you cut the toxic out of your life, but we still lose so much by this. They are the people we grew up with, kept up with, and they have been led astray. We need them as we grow older, yet they no longer see us as kin.

Superstition rules the day. As predicted:

Media and religion have always played a major role in romanticizing the inequalities of the past, a comforting vision of a bucolic medieval way of life when Might Made Right and rigid, brutal social stratification ruled the lives of everyone, most especially women, in the most intimate and to the liberal mind, horrific as nothing more than vessels to breed cannon fodder.

The media in particular spoon fed illogical sci-fi, not the former kind about uplifting the human race, respect for all to protect our planet. Then they fed a vision of mobsters made attractive to the masses despite the underpinning of destroying the lives of others by enriching a few off the human frailties of those not in their tribe, a cultural acclimatization to fascism - where principles of justice and equality do not prevail, only profit, the most narrow and venal kind are seen as logical.

They sold people fantasies of how the marginalized masses will be used as pawns of the most brutal and corrupt systems of power and made people feel the sight of their huge mansions and luxuries and limos are beautiful things instead of the gross insanity and obscenity they really are. People were desensitized and prepared to accept such backward notions.

This is what the people have been taught and really, media and religion is just a way to waste one's short time on Earth. Those not addicted to entertainment are making things happen in the real world and feeding off the cupidity of those who love their addiction more than their own lives. They, the technocrats, have moved on and left the rest behind as those deserving of no respect because of their choices, of any party or persuasion.

Those with closed hearts and minds, who refused a wider vision, made their choice. The technocrats wanted knowledge and used it for survival of those willing to work for bigger things.

It's not right or wrong. It just is.

As well they should be. And we were warned early on. A hint of what was squandered since 2009:

Obama '...a democratic president, has stood by our democracy, making this a better country.'

Yes indeed. He believes in this country more than many ever did. Americans committed a great wrong to our POC brethren. They led the way for so many, despite all odds. They were our teachers.

Obama works for all of us and is hated from all sides. He knows how the words of the Founders have been interpreted by progressives like himself - a true liberal and progressive - anyone who can't grasp that is beyond help.

The best opportunity this nation had to overcome 30 years of increasing fascism has been wasted. He has been loyal to a nation who didn't deserve him and I will never forgive the haters.

I'm a thread killer, or so it seems at times. I don't go with the drama. Just call me:

And you're welcome. I find Ignore and Trash thread to be good friends, too.
