Army general left classified maps on train, concussed after 'overindulgence' in alcohol: Inspector general report

Source: the hill

by Filip Timotija - 03/16/26 7:05 PM ET

U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Antonio Aguto, who oversaw the command that coordinated, trained and equipped Ukraine’s military, left a tube of classified maps on a train to Poland for more than 24 hours and was concussed from falling after “overindulgence” in alcohol during a dinner in Ukraine, a recently released Pentagon inspector general report found.

The 56-page report, which was published on Friday, found the now-retired two-star general, who led the Wiesbaden, Germany-based Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U), brought the classified maps during a trip from Germany to Ukraine in late March 2024 and assigned control of them to his staff. ..............

Aguto was the head of the SAG-U, which was established in November with about 300 personnel to “ensure America is postured to continue supporting Ukraine over the long term,” until August 2024, when he retired.

The probe also included allegations of a “toxic” environment at SAG-U headquarters, although Aguto was not liable for the unit’s issues.

Charlie Kirk Show hosts Blake Neff and Andrew Kolvet pressed for the defeat of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), an ally of President Donald Trump, by hosting his two opponents, Paul Davis and Mark Lynch.

"I have been very loud about my criticisms of Sen. Lindsey Graham, the neocon warmonger from South Carolina, who has just seemed to stay in office for a very long time," Kolvet said on Monday's broadcast. "Charlie Kirk — Charlie always called him Lady Graham, as he called it... I'm pretty sure that's what a lot of people call him."

The host pointed to a 2023 quote from Kirk: "The base is done with neocons who want to spend our money to bomb faraway lands." .......................

I never followed Kirk nor what he said or did not say, but this is interesting to say the least.

All 4 living former presidents deny Trump's bizarre Iran bombing claim

Source: raw story

Robert Davis March 16, 2026 7:11PM ET

Aides to all four living presidents confirmed to CNN on Monday that none of them have spoken with President Donald Trump about his bombing strikes in Iran, as Trump claimed during a press conference.

Trump claimed in the Oval Office that he had spoken to a former president about bombing Iran, and that the former president had approved of the operation. Trump added that the former president claimed he "wished" he had made the decision to bomb Iran. The president also declined to identify which president he was talking about.

................

"A spokesman for Clinton told CNN that no recent conversations have taken place between Clinton and Trump — about Iran or anything else," they reported.

"Aides to Bush, Obama and Biden offered similar sentiments on Monday, saying there is no record of any communications with Trump," the report added. .....................

Maybe he had a deep conversation with Andrew Jackson or James Monroe?

Spain rules out participating in military operations in Strait of Hormuz

Source: msn.com

Story by Reuters • 2h

MADRID, March 16 (Reuters) - Spain will not take part in any military mission in the Strait of Hormuz because it considers the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran to be illegal, Madrid's defence and foreign affairs ministers said on Monday.

The leftist coalition government led by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has criticised the offensive and banned participating U.S. aircraft from using jointly operated bases in southern Spain.

Defence Minister Margarita Robles rejected a demand by U.S. President Donald Trump for military support to secure the waterway - which Tehran has de facto blocked to oil tanker traffic - and his threats of a "very bad future" for NATO allies failing to do so.

..................

Some EU members such as Germany, Italy or Greece have also signalled they will not join military operations in the strait, while others including Denmark have yet to make a decision.

I believe Japan has also said NO to Trump begging for help.

Spain rules out participating in military operations in Strait of Hormuz
Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said.

"We mustn't do anything that would add even more tension or cause the situation to escalate further," he told reporters in Brussels.

Video: Trump in 2008: Anyone who invades the Middle East under false pretenses should be impeached.........

well, if Dems impeach Trump a 3rd time--IMHO--the Maga folks will re-elect him again even if he is not on the ballot.

It’s crazy how much more coherent Trump is here. He’s still got a lot of the distinctive vocal mannerisms, but he’s able to finish a sentence without wandering off track, stay focused around a reasonably narrow point, and express himself in a way that doesn’t leave you wondering what he’s on about.
