Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Weimer was selected to succeed Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston, who will depart the role in August 2023.
Weimer is a career special operator, according to his official biography and details released by Hewitt.

A DOJ release states that a federal grand jury indicted 45-year-old Herman Wilson, also known as Bilal MuMin Abdullah, on Tuesday on charges that he attempted to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and attempted to obstruct, influence and impede at least one official proceeding.
