If you want a recount you can pay for it, Alabama secretary of state tells loser Roy Moore

If you want a recount you can pay for it, Alabama secretary of state tells loser Roy Moore after alleged pedophile denies losing

...

Alabama's Secretary of State John Merrill said Republican Senate loser Roy Moore could get a recount of the election – if he paid for it.

'The people of Alabama have spoken tonight. They’ve made their voice heard loud and clear,' Merrill said on CNN.

Moore outdid even Democrat Doug Jones – who shocked the political world by winning – by dramatically coming onstage at his election night party and pronouncing the race not over.

Senate candidate Roy Moore refused to concede Tuesday night, urging journalists to ask Alabama's secretary of state about a recount. On CNN, the secretary of state said the people of Alabama 'made their voice heard loud and clear'

'I really want to thank you for coming tonight and realize when the vote is this close it is not over,' Moore said.

He urged journalists in the room to check in with the state's secretary of state about a recount provision, suggesting the race was close enough to trigger a second look.

At last counting, Jones had bested Moore by 20,000 votes or 1.5 per cent.

'But we know that God is always in control,' Moore also said. 'Part of the problem with this campaign is that we've been painted in unfavorable and unfaithful light. We've been put in a hole.'

After righteously proclaiming that Jesus will decide the outcome of the election, Roy Moore can't take no for an answer, not even from Jesus. Where's the faith, Roy?

Moore to Jesus: I want a second opinion. Jesus to Moore: Go fuck yourself.

I find this ironic.

The only resident of the White House who is showing poise, dignity and courage is an ex stripper gold digger who barely speaks English.

I was very critical of Melania's character in the past, but I am changing my mind. She is the only member of the Trump family who actually condemned the neo-Nazi violence in Charlottesville. She has the cojones to confront the violent racists that our dearest leader so sorely lacks, and, unlike the rest of the members of the corrupt clan ruling America, she has earned my respect.

If it were baseball, this is what the vote to repeal Obamacare in the House would have looked like:

A team with many more players than their rival, after being struck out twice, finally manages to get to first base. Then the entire team runs off the field, gets on a bus and drives to the manager's office to kiss his ring, where players make long speeches about how they heroically overcame team in-fighting to get to first base in the face of underwhelming opposition from the rival team, and how getting to first base is a major victory they promised to America (they actually promised to win the game, over 50 times in the past seven years, and only to their fans).

Are they completely off their rockers?

Harvard Study Confirms Anti-Clinton Media Bias.

From Daily Kos:

An interesting new study about media bias was conducted recently by Harvard. The results perhaps aren’t all that surprising to those of us who’ve been closely following press coverage throughout the primary process, but go a long way in shedding light on several key issues. Most notable among these are Clinton’s downward trajectory in the “likability” department but also the fact the media has done a disservice to not only Clinton but also Sanders, supporters of both candidates and the party in general.

A new report released this week by Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy found Clinton has received far more negative coverage than any other candidate in the race thus far. The study was based on an analysis of news statements from CBS, Fox, the Los Angeles Times, NBC, the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.

“Far more negative?” More like insanely more negative! The study found that 84 percent of Clinton’s coverage has been “negative in tone” compared to just 43 percent for Trump and 17 percent for Sanders. Even though many of us would just assume forget about Rafael Cruz at this stage, it’s notable to point out that he received fairly balanced press coverage in comparison to his opponent. So while the media insured their playing field was much more leveled, they didn’t afford us the same luxury.

Judging by the data this study reveals, the media has done a true disservice to the left thus far with highly slanted, selective coverage managing to paint an inaccurate picture of both Clinton and Sanders. Why? Well, apparently it was more important to make the entire primary race more “exciting” by setting up a false “David vs. Goliath” narrative.

Calif. Shuts GOP Out From Senate Race With 2 Dems Advancing To Runoff

Source: TPM

LOS ANGELES (AP) — In a historic first, California voters Tuesday sent two Democrats, both minority women, to a November runoff for the state's open U.S. Senate seat.

The matchup between state Attorney General Kamala Harris and 10-term Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez marks the first time since voters started electing senators a century ago that Republicans will be absent from California's general election ballot for the Senate. The outcome reaffirms the GOP's diminished stature in the nation's most populous state.

The two were among 34 candidates seeking the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Barbara Boxer, a liberal favorite first elected a generation ago, in 1992.

Under California election rules, only two candidates — the top vote-getters — advance to the November election.

With Hillary making history in California, it's easy to overlook the other historic development in the State's elections.

The meeting, scheduled at Sanders' request, will take place just two days after Tuesday's pivotal primary contests, where Hillary Clinton secured the majority of pledged delegates in the Democratic race and clinched the party's presidential nomination.

Sanders wants to meet with the neoliberal third way corporate shill...

My guess is they will discuss Obama's "disastrous" trade policies. Why else would Bernie want to meet with Obama?

Trump: If I’m Elected, GOP Will Become A 'Worker’s Party'

Source: TPM

“Five, 10 years from now—different party,” Trump told Bloomberg Politics during an extended sit-down folded within the magazine’s profile on Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus. “You’re going to have a worker’s party."

snip

Trump's comments immediately caught attention on social media, given that "worker's party” is a term adopted by many left-wing socialist political organizations. The term has also been used by right-wing groups like the National Socialist German Worker's Party, or Nazi Party.

In the Bloomberg interview, Trump outlined a new vision for the GOP vastly different from the laissez-faire, hawkish, inclusive-to-minorities plan the party set forth after losing the 2012 presidential election. Trump’s Republican Party would restrict free trade, protect Social Security and push the U.S. to turn inwards.

I don't know about the Hillary and Bernie bashers, but this is getting too close for comfort for me.

Time to stop playing games and face the ugly.

Liberal media turns on Sanders

http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/280453-liberal-media-turns-on-sanders

As the fallout from last weekend’s Nevada Democratic convention spreads, sharply critical pieces about the White House hopeful and his campaign have appeared in progressive outlets such as Mother Jones, Talking Points Memo and Daily Kos within the past 48 hours.

The Sanders campaign has also taken hits from progressive CNN contributor Sally Kohn, who endorsed the Vermont senator from the stage at a massive rally in New York City just before the Empire State’s April primary.

Kohn wrote an article published Wednesday for Time magazine that was headlined, “I felt the Bern but the Bros are extinguishing the flames.”

The fact that the criticism is coming from left-leaning sources makes it more difficult for Sanders supporters to rebut it.

Just goes to show: not all liberals are Bernie supporters, and not all Bernie supporters are liberals.

I am not concerned about their threats of sitting General Elections out, or voting for Trump. The vast majority of liberals are, or will be out of the Bernie bubble soon.
