ProudLib72's JournalDUers, At What Age Did You Become Politically Minded and Why?
I'm curious to see if it's age, event, or a combination of both that turns people on to politics. Maybe there is also a nurture component? So if you can include how old you were (roughly), any significant events that happened, whether or not your parents followed politics and encouraged your involvement.
I'll go first.
I was in my late 20s/early 30s. 9/11 started it, but Iraq really got me involved. My parents were always aware of politics, but I don't recall them really discussing politics with me.
tRump Speaks of Big Corporations Spreading "LOVE"?????

Roy Moore Still Hasnt Conceded, Now Calling Out Doug Jones Son For Being Gay
https://www.mediaite.com/trump/roy-moore-still-hasnt-conceded-and-now-hes-calling-out-doug-jones-son-for-being-gay/Everyones favorite suspected child molester, and confirmed horse whisperer, took to Facebook to inform Alabama voters of the shocking news that, gasp, Carson Jones is not only gay, but hes not even ashamed of it. The nerve!
It must again be noted, again, that Moore still hasnt conceded from the race. Does he think voters will become so enraged by the news that Doug Jones has a gay son that they will take to the streets, demanding that Moore ride Sassy the Horse all the way to Washington D.C., using his tiny gun to take the Senate seat by force? Maybe? Probably?
Something must be done with this nasty, nasty man.
Are We Done Going High Yet?
They got a tax scam.
We lost Al Franken.
I'm at the point now where I'd like to see us throw all manner of shit and see what sticks. I'm done playing nicey nice with these inhuman assholes.
Johnson: Mueller email dispute may require change to the law
http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/18/politics/johnson-gowdy-mueller-email-dispute/index.htmlJohnson told CNN that he thinks there needs to be a change to the law to say that those transition emails, administered by the General Services Administration, are not the property of the federal government.
"We're going to have to potentially update the laws ... to make it very clear that even though this is housed at GSA, this is not government property," said the Wisconsin Republican, who planned to write a letter to GSA to get more clarity on what happened. "I think those are some legitimate issues they raised."
Whiny babies gonna whine.
Suggestion: Stop Comparing Rethugs to Mammals
It's offensive to our class. I would argue we should exclude all vertebrates, but that would eliminate sea squirts.

62 Days And Counting Without Measurable Snow In Denver
http://denver.cbslocal.com/2017/12/10/62-days-without-snow-in-denver/The last and only measurable snowfall in Denver this season fell on October 9. That storm brought 2.8″ of snow to the official weather station at Denver International Airport.
Its one of the least snowy starts to the season in Denvers recorded weather history and it will be the least snowy if we manage to make it to the end of December with less than an inch of snow.
That's about it for the article, but there is a table with snowfall data to compare.
People, snow is what we derive most of our water from in CO. It snows in the winter, and we use the snowmelt for the rest of the year. This is not good!
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/weather/weather-blogs/snowpack-is-vital-to-colorados-water-supply-as-well-as-to-millions-of-people-who-live-downstream
What, no snow! And here I was going to bring some to throw in the Senate!
My Theory: Franken Was A VERY Expensive Trial Balloon
To see if our sacrifice would curry favor with the women's movement and, by linking to it, gain some of its impetus. The optics included two important factors: 1) A call for zero tolerance in the face of sex abuse/harassment allegations, and 2) A strong woman taking lead of the call.
If this is the case, and it was a trial balloon, I'm not sure if Gillibrand herself wasn't put in the position of possible sacrifice. We should know the fallout in a few weeks. Will everyone still hate what she did, or will everyone eventually accept it and come to realize it was the best possible decision in light of all the allegations?
How Long Have They Been Setting Up Gillibrand for 2020?
I remember a lot of posts on DU throughout the year about who should run in 2020, but I don't recall ever seeing her name. Duers are usually ahead of the trends, so I take this to mean that she is a fairly recent phenomenon. Have I just not been paying attention?
