Drivers of “tens of thousands” of X5 and 335D model diesel cars built between 2009 and 2011 sued BMW and its technology supplier, Robert Bosch GmbH, alleging they installed algorithms designed to manipulate testing systems, using methods similar to those admitted to by Volkswagen AG. They claim those vehicles are polluting at up to 27 times the legal limit, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in New Jersey federal court.
“At these levels, these cars aren’t just dirty -- they don’t meet standards to be legally driven on U.S. streets and no one would have bought these cars if BMW had told the truth,” said Steve Berman, the plaintiffs’ attorney who has filed similar claims against Ford Motor Co., Mercedes-Benz, Fiat Chrysler Automobile NV, General Motors Co. and Volkswagen.
The German automaker largely escaped the scrutiny that has plagued the industry since VW admitted to rigging 11 million vehicles, ultimately being hit with $25 billion in fines and penalties. Then, in February, BMW said it mistakenly put the wrong software in almost 12,000 diesel vehicles. Last week, prosecutors raided the automaker’s Munich headquarters and its engine plant in Steyr, Austria, to look into 7-Series and 5-Series sedans.
Here we go again! And the orange turd wants to turn back diesel emission standards. Maybe they can just hold off a little while longer on those lawsuits?
White security guard chokes and body-slams black teen girl at Ohio supermarket
The Toledo Blade identified the guard in the video as Tom Clingo, 32. He’s seen brutalizing a 16-year-old black girl who he suspected of stealing “miscellaneous items.”
The physical confrontation lasts more than five minutes, during which the security guard strikes the girl, chokes her, slams her to the floor and holds her down while waiting for police to show up.

I did not know this until I did some digging around on multilingual presidents. Martin Van Buren's first language was Dutch. He was also the first president to be born and American citizen. This must be problematic for the English only people.

Responding to news that Michelle Obama's portrait was moved to a larger location in order to handle the crowds that come to view it, Donald J tRump told the single WH aide willing to listen that his official portrait needed a new location as well, one befitting his great service to the country. The WH aide, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, happily obliged the president, hanging the portrait in a new location that would remind all viewers exactly what he has done to our country.

I know it predates Reagan but was a popular slogan during his administration, yet tRump's usage is just about the most insane reversal I have ever seen! Reagan was talking about the Cold War, and now tRump wants to align with Russia?!

Karen McDougal Suing tRump To Tell Her Story As Well
Karen McDougal, a fitness expert and former Playboy model, filed suit on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking the right to speak publicly about an alleged affair between her and Trump. She’s the second woman to file such a suit. Adult film actress Stormy Daniels sued Trump earlier this month.
In documents reviewed by Ronan Farrow of the New Yorker, McDougal says she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and 2007. In August 2016, after Trump won the Republican nomination for president, she signed away the rights to her story to American Media Inc. (AMI), the company that publishes the National Enquirer, according to Farrow.
In exchange, she got $150,000, 45 percent of which went to various middlemen, and was told that AMI would publish 100 fitness columns by her. The deal was apparently an example of a tactic called “catch and kill,” in which David Pecker, the chair of AMI and a personal friend of Trump’s, would buy the rights to a story only to make sure it never saw the light of day.
But now McDougal wants to speak out. So she’s suing AMI, arguing that she was misled about the deal. Like Stormy Daniels, she is seeking “declaratory relief” — she wants the court to declare her deal with AMI invalid, which would help her tell her story publicly without fear of legal repercussions.
So Lots of Guns Is Normal, but Explosives Are Only for Terrorists?
This is the article that began my thinking about this topic:
A Florida man who recently left his job as a public safety officer at the Kentucky Creation Museum has been taken into custody by law enforcement officials for possession of a cache of military grade explosives as well as weapons and silencers, reports the Miami Herald.
According to the report, Joel Ryals, 41, who also previously served as a law enforcement officer in Tampa Bay, was arrested on Wednesday after a package labeled C-4 was spotted on his property.
The Florida man was charged with 14 counts of possession of explosives requiring a license after being taken into custody by federal officials in Mississippi where Ryals was conducting K-9 training for local law enforcement officials.

He had an "arms cache", but it was the package of C-4 that set the wheels in motion to search his residence. In fact, the article does not go into much detail about the firearms he was hoarding (oh, everyone has guns, big deal
). Yet a single block of C-4 is the red flag. So my question is, Why is it that an "arms cache" is viewed as normal while a single block of C-4 instantly signals "terror suspect"? Just think about that for a moment. If it had not been for someone spotting the plastic explosives, he could easily have been the next shooter or supplied the next shooter.
Forget about the C-4. He could have made a few bombs, yes, but I am willing to argue that he could do a lot more damage with an "arms cache". I think we need to stop normalizing this gun hoarding shit.

Neither have I. And the thing about the parable of the prodigal son was that it was his father who was glad to see him, not some stranger. Furthermore, the prodigal son returned of his own volition; his father did not go out searching for him. True, the prodigal son wasted his inheritance and had no other place to turn, but he was smart enough to realize his mistake when it bit him in the ass. These tRump voters are strangers to me. I owe them nothing lest they prove themselves. They can start by voting correctly in November. They can continue to vote correctly in 2020. Maybe after fifteen or twenty years of correct voting I will accept them. Only by demonstrating they have come to realize their own foolishness and make amends of their own accord may they be redeemed.
Thus endeth the exegesis that any goodly evangelical trumpanzee should be able to understand.
