Dude's got a pretty kickass voice, and excellent band ... a damn groovy, soulful tune, even if it sounds like a LOT of older songs by other artists ... IOW, it's about as 'instantly familiar' as it gets ...

FFS, Mueller did NOT 'RECOMMEND NO JAIL TIME' for Flynn ... why is everyone, everywhere saying this?

He recommended a penalty towards the lower end of sentencing guidelines which COULD INCLUDE 'no jail time'.

He absolutely DID NOT explicitly 'Recommend No Jail Time'.

Looking at how ALL the reporting is casting this ... is pissing me off at this point.

It's not that hard to report it correctly.

john mayer - slow dancing in a burning room (live - 2007 - los angeles) jaw-dropping perfection ...

I'm totally prepared to forgive the occasional bit of mild douche-baggery in a musician ... when they're this good at writing, singing, and playing ... not to mention, the lyrics definitely hit me in the feels ...

Bonus track, from the same show ... also sheer perfection ... I esp. love the above-the-nut string bends at around the 5:00 mark. Dude is a straight badass ...

John Mayer - Walt Grace's Submarine Test, January 1967 (don't care what u say, this is a great song)

There's just something about it ... that really hits home for me ... I LIKE a lot of Mayer's songs, especially those on Continuum and this album (Born and Raised), but this is the one song of his that I legitimately love ... think it's the best song he ever did.

Probably NOBODY here has heard it ... give it a shot ...

From their 2014 debut "Wildewoman", pretty much every song on it is good-to-great, but this is a particular fave. Love the part starting at 3:05 ... so, so good.

I also love the various differently-sung refrains of:
