Judge Orders Deposition of Trump

February 23, 2023 at 3:33 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 43 Comments

“A federal judge has agreed to permit former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page to take sworn testimony from former President Donald Trump for two hours as part of their long-running lawsuits related to Strzok’s firing in 2018 after Trump repeatedly and publicly pilloried the pair,” Politico reports.

Thank you, DU hearts are good for the soul!

Thank you, DU friends, for your kindness during heart season and all year long. I value being part of this community with you.

Happy Valentines Day!

Excellent Olivia Nuzzi article (warning, put down your coffee first her descriptions of TFG are

hilarious)

I hope this isn’t behind a paywall, I was unable to test it before posting.

One of my favorite descriptions:

‘On the day he announced his candidacy this past November, the air was heavy with oleander and snipped greenery and sea mist colliding with mold and wood polish and hotel soap and the metallic vapor of Diet Coke and the alcoholic ferment of generations of cougars in Chanel No. 5. ‘

Gabby Giffords Won't Back Down is excellent - must see.

I’m a Tucsonan and I was unaware of how much GG went through, and continues to overcome from being shot. Her husband, Mark Kelly, took extensive video from day 1 of their journey. Really good, I’ve laughed and cried and it isn’t over yet! Find it on prime or elsewhere!

Here is hoping that Nancy Pelosi will mentor the next Dem Minority Leader and

the new Dem Minority Leader will be smart enough to embrace her mentoring.

Az House 6 Engel closes the gap in latest drop: now down by only 1,382

House 6 91% vote in

Republican J. Ciscomani 50.2%. 155,311

Democrat K. Engel 49.8% 153,929

I’m going off memory but I think she cut the lead in half. This is a long shot, but may just be possible.

For anyone watching Norte Dame -Navy game, did you know Navy saved Norte Dame?

From Wikipedia:

Despite the one-sided result the last few decades, most Notre Dame and Navy fans consider the series a sacred tradition for historical reasons. Both schools have strong football traditions going back to the beginnings of the sport. Notre Dame, like many colleges, faced severe financial difficulties during World War II, which were exacerbated by the fact that it was then still an all-male institution. The US Navy made Notre Dame a training center for V-12 candidates and paid enough for usage of the facilities to keep the University afloat. Notre Dame has since extended an open invitation for Navy to play the Fighting Irish in football and considers the game annual repayment on a debt of honor.

It takes no character to flee a sinking ship.

Character would have been leaving the ship years ago.
