'Strange and inappropriate': Flood victim says Cuomo came onto her in her home

Source: NBC News

A married New York woman said Monday that Gov. Andrew Cuomo grabbed her by her face, gave her unwanted kisses and appeared to come on to her in front of her son while touring flood damage on her property in 2017.

Sherry Vill said she was introduced to Cuomo, in her Greece, New York, home where he leaned over and kissed her cheeks in a "highly sexual manner."

"He said, 'That’s what Italians do — kiss both cheeks,'" Vill told reporters in an online news conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred.

Vill said she was shocked by Cuomo's actions. “I am Italian. In my family, family members kiss. Strangers do not kiss,” Vill said.
As Cuomo, a Democrat, left to tour her property, Vill said he stopped, turned to her and said, "You're beautiful."

Source: MediaIte

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) responded to a supporter on Monday, referring to her as “darling” and telling her he would not step down from his position.

“I love you and you better stay where you are, we’ve got your back,” a woman yelled to the embattled governor as he was entering a car. “We love you, we need you at the finish line, you better stay.”

With his mask down, Cuomo yelled back, “I’m staying!”

Before getting in the car Cuomo said, “Alright, I’m not going anywhere, darling.”

Cuomo Heard Making 'Child Rapist' Threat to Working Families Party Leader in 2018 Call

Source: NBC NY

Near the end of February, The New York Times reported on a phone conversation where Cuomo used stark language in response to the progressive group's decision to back him in the then upcoming general election as a better alternative to Republican Marc Molinaro.

"If you ever say, 'Well he's better than a Republican' again, then I'm gonna say, 'You're better than a child rapist.' How about that?" Cuomo is heard saying on the call, obtained late Friday by NBC New York.

“Governor, I apologize, but I gotta clarify one thing,” the leader of the Working Families Party is heard responding to the governor on the call. “You’re free to say whatever you want, governor, but I just want to be clear. Our line is going to be that we have differences with you, but our differences with Republicans are far greater.”

The snippet of the 2018 call was first made public on Friday, almost a month after the Times reported the outburst and the governor's spokespeople denied the reporting. The Times first shared the audio in an episode of The Daily podcast that aired Friday morning.

F.B.I. Investigating Whether Cuomo Aides Gave False Data on Nursing Homes

Source: NY Times

A federal investigation into Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s handling of nursing homes during the pandemic has focused in recent weeks on whether the governor and his senior aides provided false data on resident deaths to the Justice Department, according to four people with knowledge of the investigation.

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation have contacted lawyers for Mr. Cuomo’s aides, interviewed senior officials from the state Health Department and subpoenaed Mr. Cuomo’s office for documents related to the disclosure of data last year, the people said.

The interviews have included questions about information New York State submitted last year to the Justice Department, which had asked the state for data on Covid-19 cases and deaths in nursing homes, according to the people. False statements in such a submission could constitute a crime.

In some cases, agents traveled to the homes of state health officials to interview them about the data. In others, they spoke to officials by phone, according to the people, who requested anonymity to discuss the active investigation.

At least two women who accused Cuomo of misbehavior said he summoned them to help navigate his iPhon

Source: Business Insider

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo exhibited a pattern of asking younger women on his staff to assist him with minor tech issues, according to a new report from the Albany Times Union published Monday.

Jessica Westerman, the attorney for former Cuomo staffer Charlotte Bennett, told the Times Union that the governor called the 25-year-old into his office to help him navigate between his iPhone's settings and Notes apps, which are normally clearly displayed on the device's home screen.

This came a day after Cuomo reportedly quizzed Bennett on her sex life, including whether she would be open to sleeping with an older man.

Cuomo's sixth accuser, a current staffer who is so far unnamed, was summoned to Cuomo's private residence for a similar issue with his Notes app, according to a person briefed on her complaint who spoke with the Times Union on the condition of anonymity.

Alabama Republican Party to gift Trump with resolution acknowledging him as one of the 'greatest' pr

Source: MSN

The Alabama Republican Party will honor former President Trump for being "one of the greatest and most effective presidents in the 245-year history of this Republic," Fox News reported.

At a Saturday evening reception held at Mar-a-Lago, the party will present Trump with a framed resolution that grants him the honor.

"The resolution, basically, it just talks about the greatness of Donald J. Trump, how he made America great again and I hope other states will follow suit," Perry Hooper Jr., a former state representative and a member of the state party's executive committee, told Fox News.

Members of the state's GOP unanimously voted on the resolution, which claims that "President Trump put the American people and the American worker first in all of his decisions."

Female Cuomo staffers say they were pressured to wear makeup, heels, and dresses to please the gover

Source: Business Insider

A slew of female aides to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo say they were either explicitly told or felt pressured to wear makeup and dress up to please the governor and get ahead professionally.

Twelve women told The New York Times that there was a general understanding that they should wear heels, dresses, and makeup when in Cuomo's presence. More than a dozen women who've worked for Cuomo told New York Magazine that the governor and his top female aides applied heavy pressure to dress well and in expensive clothing. Some said they were specifically directed to wear heels when in the governor's presence. Several current and former aides in the governor's office told The Times that women who are tall, thin, and blonde were favored in the hiring process.

Another former aide named Kaitlin, who asked that her last name not be used, told New York Magazine that the governor would criticize her physical appearance if she came to work with wet hair or otherwise didn't meet his standards. She said he would tell her, "You decided not to get ready today?" or, "You didn't put makeup on today?"

One former staffer, Ana Liss, said an executive assistant to the governor told her, "When the governor is here, you need to look really good."

A current senior aide and two former staffers told The Times they believed they were passed over for certain professional opportunities because of how they dressed. Three former staffers said they had to dress the way Cuomo wanted if they desired special attention from the governor. Staffers who dressed according to Cuomo's code would be seated at desks in view of his office in the Capitol building, The Times reported.

President Biden signs $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill with $1,400 stimulus checks into law

Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden on Thursday signed into law a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill, hours before he planned to address the nation to begin an extensive outreach campaign explaining the massive spending package.

The measure includes direct payments of up to $1,400 for individuals, billions to help schools and colleges reopen, and funding for vaccine distribution – along with many other measures aimed at helping America recover from the pandemic.

The White House moved up the bill signing to Thursday from Friday after Congress finalized the bill sooner than expected.

"We want to move as fast as possible," Ron Klain, Biden's chief of staff, tweeted when the new time was announced.

Joe Manchin pledges to block Biden's infrastructure bill if Republicans aren't included

Source: Yahoo News

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), America's ultimate swing voter, told me on "Axios on HBO" that he'll insist Republicans have more of a voice on President Biden's next big package than they did on the COVID stimulus.

The big picture: Manchin said he'll push for tax hikes to pay for Biden's upcoming infrastructure and climate proposal, and will use his Energy Committee chairmanship to force the GOP to confront climate reality.

Manchin, 73, said Biden expects, and understands, the pushback: "He's the first president we've had to really, really understand the workings of the Senate since LBJ."

Manchin said that with just a few concessions, it would have been possible to get some Republicans on the COVID relief package that passed the Senate this weekend on a party-line vote. And he said he'll block Biden's next big package — $2 trillion to $4 trillion for climate and infrastructure — if Republicans aren't included.
